UNIT 6 TASK 1C
Whether Tolkein aimed Lord Of The Rings at a certain type of person, whether it be because of their age, gender, interests etc. Or whether it was aimed to entertain everyone. I have research Tolkeiens book and Tolkien knew that the LOTR was aimed at a more mature audience because the subject matter was quite a bit more gory and adult in theme. He mentions that as the readers of the Hobbit had grown up by the time he finished LOTR they were a good start for interested readers. He also mentions his surprise at some of the diverse people from all walks of life who were interested in his writings. I like to think that a lot of what he wrote was for his own entertainment and satisfaction and it just so happened that others fell in love with his world and writing as well.
The Lord Of The Rings has one of the highest ratings on Rotten Tomatoes, every movie made more the 80% which is extremely good.

Observation online habbits data
As a class we collected data of are internet usage on a weekend. The results of the research are that TV, Streaming films, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter are the most popular in the class. Only 60% of people watching TV for more than an hour and 40% of people watch more than an hour, whereas SnapChat only 20% of people use it for an hour or more and 80% use Snapchat for more than 2 or 3 hours. This shows that the younger generation have a much higher intake of social media platforms rather then Televisions.
Radio and Netflix represent the secound most popular platforms with an 8 hours of usage. Radio is a default as we discussed in the class people put the radio on in the car and don't always pay attention. Netflix is very popular with people aged around 16 to 24, Netflix has kinda become the new televisions. We also discussed that it was surprising that younger people listen to so much radio but then came to the conclusion that as student we would only be able to afford cars with old radios.
The cinema and Sat Nav are both used for more than an hour. The cinema is impossible to be under an hour but the Sat Nav as only 10% used it could vary if more people used the Sat Nav there would be a higher percentage but the amount of time would be less as the majority of people on used it when they don't know where they are going on a sort journey, also most people don't drive.
Overall the class used 21 hours of internet usage a day thats 70% and only 30% offline. In to days society people using the internet isn't un heard of nither is long hours of consuming social media, in my opinion you need to set yourself times and mange the your spending on the internet. I do think that long hours of being online can effect you mentally and physically you can become addicted and when your offline can effect behaviour you can feel lost, out of contact with people and board.
Both the weekend and the week day have similar media use. Snapchat was the most popular social media at the weekend and day, media that would take more time and money to do so the results are that it was most popular to go to the cinema at the weekend rather a week day where most people was busy with work college.
The internet usage was very similar for both days this suggests that people are using the internet at the same time on both days. people who spend time gaming spend around 0-1 hours at the weekend.
The media usage my mum used when she was my age is completely different to the media I use she spent less hours and didn't have any social media

I have chosen Lord Of The Rings because it has always been my favourite film. Its the type of film I can watch on repeat and never get board. The film also relates to my work for an exsample I like to base some of my ideas on the style of the movie and some of its features.
