for my background i made contrasting colors, and tried to use opposing dead flower colors! i used a white one in the middle to show where the colors change as well.
I like that you used dried flowers in your work. I also like the fact that they blend into the background and gluing the white flowers in the place where the colors change is also interesting.
To create my background, I painted a small stress ball (in place of a marble) and then let it roll around on my paper to create movement. It was really fun seeing the different patterns that the ball created as well as the way the colors mixed. I opted for an overall theme in my Pop Art project of opposites, with the background made by the stress ball looking more chaotic, while the orange border around the paper is more ordered. There were also opposites in play with the word "food" that I found repeated, while the repeating products I found were different types of drinks.

I like this background and the way you did it. It's really interesting that you used a ball to create a background for this work.
The background of my piece was blended together through flowers from my front lawn, replacing the purpose of brushes. Because of the intensity and use of the flowers, residual petals dried along the background, leaving small ridges in my artwork.
“all the good girls go to hell” by Billie Eilish addresses the concept that humans have destroyed the earth, and are unaware of how to fix those issues. Billie is known for creating music that pushes the status quo on “acceptable” or “mainstream” behavior.
I really like that you used flowers from your own lawn and mixed them with your background. I also like the contrast created by dominoes, cut-out flowers and a hockey player.
For my final project, I decided to choose an arth theme, in pop art with abstract expressionism. Arth theme is the main motif of my painting, as you can see in the photo. There is a painted earth placed at the main point of my painting.
The second movement that is in my painting is pop art. The two "people" in my painting were painted in a kitschy and ironic way, a reference to pop art.
The last movement that is featured in my painting is abstract expressionism. The background of my painting was done in this style. My background was painted with spontaneity, automaticity and subconsciousness, and these are, among others, the elements that characterize abstract expressionism.
My concept was based on the societal expectations communicated through magazines targeted at an older female demographic. I have two women gazing at the text “forever young: how to reduce body fat naturally” to suggest that this is the messaging they are subject to. Then satiricalIy I added “eat salads” as a response to the text above coming from an overweight man off to the side.
My chalk design was inspired by Haring's work entitled, "Best Buddies." I used the similar two-dimensional, vibrant shapes and colors that Haring employs in his work. I attempted to keep the design as consistent with the original artwork as my talents would allow. I love art!
After having chosen words that seemed provocative and loaded from my magazine I decided to choose an advertisement that displayed in large letters a price. It seemed like an opportunity to make a satirical statement by attaching a bolded-cartoonish price with the word “abortion”. I added “slam on” at the bottom as an appeal to humor. The layout and color scheme were spontaneous choices made in the process.
In the midterm task you said that my backroud looks good and is interesting, but the shapes of my photos. same. In this work, I decided to make a similar backroud and change the shapes of the cut photos to more diverse ones. Recurring products in my articles include alcohol and boats.
