Meet Simon. This first picture is baby Simon. The second is Simon enjoying his favorite treat. And the third is a very unhappy Simon.
Why is Simon unhappy? Because of this:
Last week, Simon was neutered, which is usually a very safe and normal procedure. Unfortunately for Simon, the stress of the surgery triggered a common but really dangerous underlying condition many cats (especially male cats) have. To avoid getting into graphic details, I’ll just say this: right now, Simon is unable to urinate, and it’s a Big Fucking Problem. Aside from being incredibly painful and scary for him, urinary blockages are deadly, and if I can’t get Simon the help he needs my only option will be to put him down so he will no longer be in pain.
The thought of losing my intelligent, sweet, funny, energetic, ray of sunshine cat is unbearable to me. Like most people, Simon’s more than just a pet to me. For those of you that know me personally, you know my situation, but for those who don’t, I have no family. No parents, no siblings, nothing. All I have is my cat and my wonderful friends who unfortunately are as financially insecure as I am.
Again, like most people, I don’t make a lot of money, and the only hospital who can do the procedure to save my amazing cat’s life does not offer payment plans and requires all fees to be paid upfront. Obviously, I don’t have $1300 to $2000 to pay upfront, especially when I have already paid almost $700 for vet visits, testing, and medication. And that’s why I’m reaching out to all of you.
Simon isn’t even two years old yet. He’s just a baby, a happy boy who deserves to have a long, amazing life. That shouldn’t be taken away from him, so I am begging you to please, please help him.
