I've always imagined that in the Cross is a double agent for Dream scenario (where he infiltrates Nightmare's gang for intel) that he's... just so terrible at it. Like bro is not built stealthy.

Like- Nightmare knows. Nightmare knew the minute he said something vaguely important and Cross scurried off - the entire gang knows - hell Killer noticed day one.

Nightmare gets kinda attached to the ppl living with him but not to the point that he won't deliberately fuck with them if they're "cheating on him" (Killer's words). So he fills any meetings on further attacks with utter bullshit, sometimes he lets Killer or Dust tell Cross what's happening next and lets them come up with the most convoluted shit for him to try to explain to Dream and the others. Horror blatantly leads Cross away from the actual plan so Nightmare can tell him off later for deviating.

Anyway the gang really loves being able to mess with him so they've kept him around for ages. Dream loves it! This is their best stealthy guy! Cross is so proud of the good job he's doing! When Nightmare eventually reveals (and it wouldn't be for years bc he loves this petty bs) that they've known the entire time, Cross would be so gutted lol

Mumbo yelled with his whole chest thjs episode. He's learning to take up space. I've been watching him for year and he never yells. And this episode he's being loud and yelling. Oh my god I love him HES TAKING UP SPACE!! HES NOT BEING SO RESERVED ANYMORE!! Beating himself up over everything for years and refusing to be the loudest one in the room even if he's alone. And now he's taking up space and joking that he's the best at everything and. oh my god. Imagine Mumbo from season six doing this. Imagine Mumbo from season four doing this. MUMBO FROM SEASON TWO COULD NEVER DREAM OF THIS CONFIDENCE OH MY GOD
