“Yanno for an Aussie you sure don’t know much about coffee if you think an Americano is something American made. I hear Australia is the number one place to go for the art of espresso now-a-days, but I guess not. The Americano was made and popularized in Italy & Latin America. Sooo, no buddy, it’s not an American thing.

“Please don’t tell me that. God that hurts me.” Miles cringed placing his hand over his heart as if the confession gave Miles heart aches.

“That’s nice– but I’m not going to check that sorry. Come back tomorrow.”

“Oh, uh. Sure. I suppose you can sit in here. I must warn you I’m just going to be reading and enjoying a nice cup of coffee.”

Miles quietly sighed and stood up from his seat pulling out a set of keys, “Fine, come on.” he shook his head walking down towards his classroom.

“Maybe that’s true,” Owen snorted slightly, settling back into his seat. “But I will never stop being annoyed by perfectionists coming to ask me if their work is good enough. I’m probably not even going to legitimately grade it anyway - they shouldn’t be so worried.”

“I get it, it can be terribly annoying but I was the same way as a child. Most of us were.” he shrugged lightly tapping the stacks of paper in his hand neatly. “Aw come on, you have to at least grade hers.”

“If you’re hanging around your job, someone’s eventually going to ask you to work, you realize that right? Come on, I just need a letter of recommendation. I can’t trust any of my other teachers to write one for me.”

“My home is located in my job? Where the hell else you want me to be?” Miles asked with an annoyed tone. “Right– well I’l get around to it someday but it won’t be today.”

“Not really, I’ve had an Americano about an hour ago and it’s still kicking.”

“Well I’m not your parent, so I’m not signing anything, also its my day off that can wait.”

“I spent three weeks working on that costume that it took you two seconds to break.” Natalie said looking at her costume in her peers hand.

Miles watched on cringing as he watched a student accidentally break Natalie’s costume. “Shit.” was all Miles could utter softly under his breath seeing the look of heart ache on Natalie’s face. “Hey, hey, hey, come on we can fix it. I mean not we, but my mother, my mother can definitely fix that in less than 30 minutes.

“I was just heading out on my lunch break.” Jada said pulling out her keys. “If it in that important I suppose you could join me.”

Miles looks around his empty classroom terribly confused by the random invitation, “Wait, me– really?” he questioned a bit excited and hoping it didn’t show.
