Dreaming of Cobalt and all things Fallout

Help needed

I am a mentally ill, unemployed pagan who has been going through some very difficult times lately, so any help at all would be deeply appreciated. I live in a country that is heavily oppressive towards anyone who isn’t Christian, even making it difficult for us to find jobs and we cannot even practice our pagan faith at our own ancient sites. To make matters worse, I am being forced to move out of my apartment during this corona crises, and I hardly have enough money. I fear the worst in this situation, and if I do not find a proper place to move into, I will no longer be able to attend to the needs of my family as well as I could before. Please consider offering me any amount that you can spare, even a little can slowly help me overtime. Your gracious help will make a huge difference in my life, so I thank all who are able to spare some money for me in these desperate times.

Where was god

When inside, I saw and felt many things that made me realize. All these people, all the suffering… the windows remained empty, the cells remained too eager to contain those society had cast out as rejects… the “medics” were all interested in administering the next dose and have an easy shift. No emotion, just apathy. Faceless curators of a rotten corpse, still in anguish and pain. I was alone in there. And all the rest, they were ALONE. each of us in our own little hell, pursued by our ravenous dreams, chased by our shadows and fears. I didn’t see anyone give a damn from the outsiders, apart from the hypocrisy of asking how we are just to jot some notes on their goddamn charts. And no, nothing came to comfort and take away the pain, the pressure, the horrible images off our heads. Not even God. Especially God. So I don’t wanna hear any bible-bashing idiot preaching how God cares for all of us, and how it’s all in his divine plan. God most likely doesn’t exist, and even if he does, he doesn’t give a shit. God is absent from the psychiatric wards. All those trembling hands joining in prayer, all those hushed whispers trying to be heard by someone up there, all in vain. The pain continues, the shakes keep coming, the drugs are kept pumping in our bodies by all-too-eager nurses…. no hope for us from up above. None came to take it all away when inside; just the deafening sounds inside my head, and the silence of everything else. These religious nuts say that God gives you only what you can withstand; well that’s bullshit; I’ve seen it all, how people fall apart, how their dreams crumble, how they are shattered by trauma and guilt and whatever else burdens them… no, all these broken people in there, they didn’t deserve it. And they were good people, in their majority. Were they weak? They were too sensitive for their own good. They broke; or others broke them. God didn’t care; God was absent that day. As for me, I don’t give a damn about him since he didn’t give a damn about me. I guess I’m going to hell.

The end of all things

I dont know what you all think about Fallout games. I’ve read LOADS of blogs and comments online, including some BS stuff. Everyone’s entitled to their opinion; my favorites are Fallout 3 (harshest and bleakest of all, as it should be after a nuclear Armageddon) and New Vegas (a bit more cheerful but also richer in choices and roleplaying styles), followed by Fallout 4. These games truly make me think... all those things we take for granted. All those things we cherish in our everyday lives. Our world could end easily, and then .... what will be left? A Mad Max style world, or worse? Perhaps all the survival scenarios are less horrific than the actual truth of surviving in a Fallout world. Nothing fancy, nothing glorious, nothing pretty. For those that survive (a few years or more, who knows) it will be endless pain and bitterness. For me, that’s the end of all things.
