"Mirror Fragments"
I just thought having their unused, beta designs as alt-universe selves, all of them somewhat having fragments of traits from the mainline universe Silver/Blaze, is a cool idea especially after seeing Sonic Prime. so there it is, my AU. 🪞
Here's a brief introduction, excluding Silver/Blaze, left to right, clockwise :
1. [H.O.P.E Project] Silv-R and Flare the Cat
"This future is a desolate and dangerous place, with Iblis spawns actively mutating into larger beasts and leaving no known survivors and a harder-to-find location to evacuate into. Despite it, the H.O.P.E [Humanity's Only Protector Engine] Project specimen, Silv-R, is still in pursuit of completing his ultimate mission to destroy all of Iblis's specimens. Being a half-mobian/half-cyborg, however, he's rather dead-set on his mission and would disregard his life to achieve his goal. Thankfully, the ever-responsible strategist and rather blunt princess from another dimension is there to keep things under control and keep him under wraps."
2. "The Inferno"
"In this universe, a Silver variant was killed during his attempt to sacrifice himself to seal the flames. The Blaze variant, his partner, was overcome with grief and anger. She then attempted to seal the Iblis herself, but due to her overwhelming and uncontrolled emotions from her flaming soul, it merged with her instead. Making her and Solaris one, and corrupting her remaining sanity to destroy that future."
3. Venice the Mink and Proto-life (Formerly Cinder the Cat)
"In a universe not so different from the mainline, after collecting the emeralds, Cinder, who called the shots between the two, insisted on sealing the flames herself. Venice, for the first time having someone to call a friend and a reason to save his world, timidly yet firmly refused this outcome and tried to argue it's not a good idea, their back-and-forth causing Cinder to get distracted, resulting in losing her grip on Iblis and resulting in her being burnt to death. Still in shock from the event, Venice stood still whilst he noticed from the still-burning flames of her remains come forward a seemingly living black flame. it was a proto-life, an entirely new "living" being born from Cinder's flaming soul and the Iblis. Seemingly having lost it and having no reason to save his world anymore, he discovered the true powers of the Chaos Emerald and began on his journey to get away from his world and live in a more peaceful one by any means necessary, even if he has to get rid of his other selves to achieve it. He has stopped caring, while Proto, being new to life but having no moral compass yet, follows him for her own amusement and overall curiosity."
4. Bronze the Mink and Ember the Cat
"The future is bleak but not all hope is lost. The survivors has formed a safe camp among a small, fully walled bunker, secured from the Iblis's threats, while Bronze keeps watch at a lookout by the border. Due to his sensitive and uncontrollable psychic powers, he needs to wear his headgear so he can use his power for kinesis and not accidentally read many people's minds. Despite his cheerful and sunshine personality, due to his role and condition, he doesn't get to meet or talk with other survivors a lot. A charismatic yet playful princess appeared seemingly out of nowhere and wanted to help him with evacuation and fighting Iblis. She's seemingly popular with the rest of the townsfolk and likes to tease Bronze, much to his chagrin."
5. White-Space! Silver
"With the flames being blown by Princess Elise and the 06 timeline ceasing to exist, this Silver instead was left out, leaving him in the white void, half-colorless. His memories of the previous timeline are intact, but because he has no world to return to, he cannot die. He made a new mission for himself, to forever wander the White Space and fix any anomalies that may disrupt time and universes."
6. Sterling the Hedgehog and Pyre the Cat
"Theres another universe similar to the mainline, and just like the Silver we know, Sterling is actively trying to get rid of Iblis once and for all and its his goal to save his future. But a portal appeared and a pinkish cat with a snobby attitude barged in. Unlike the Silver and Blaze we know, however, the two started on the wrong footing by underestimating each other and, due to their egos, kept being that way, becoming bickering rivals, seemingly making "saving the world" a competition instead of being partners with a common goal. Despite this, they both secretly care of the other's being but they refuse to admit it."
Fighting Iblis/Ifrit and saving the future is the "canon event" in all realms of this AU, with the outcomes and how they handle it being the difference.
