there was truly no point in soomyong standing within a graveyard, looking down upon the grave that read ‘yoo da-san and eun-ju.’ though, he always found himself coming back here whenever the flowers would die and wither away. though, it seemed much quicker due to the hot summer days that were occurring. he can’t stand here any longer and let the emotion take over his mind. just as he went to turn, he accidentally knocks into something, “ o, “ he says, before looking upon them. “ sorry! “
why had they thought their parents would be buried in incheon? a city they had probably never step foot in for as long as jamie was alive? something in them was constantly edging at them, telling them to at least check. and there was, in fact, no grave with ' kang hana ’ nor ‘ choi jongin ’ on them. they wore a defeated look on their face as they headed out of the section of the cemetery they were in only to be met by a body colliding with theirs. “oh my gosh --- n-no ! it’s okay. i’m okay, i mean. i’m sorry.”
“She’s not going to hurt you,” Dae Keun hummed softly, his hand reaching up to pet the snake that had draped itself across his broad shoulders. “She’s just a baby anyway.” He had always had a deep connection with animals ever since he was a child, so it was quite obvious that his gift would reflect on that. His head cocked to the side when the snake’s head moved towards his ear, and he paused for a few seconds, his eyes flickering over to them. “She says that you’re putting her on edge. Relax, you’re making her nervous.”
“wait --- you’re.. are you serious? like, actually?” jamie flinched at almost every move the snake made, but never took the effort to move away. “a baby.. yeah. okay. sorry. i didn’t mean to.” they let their shoulders slouch and teeth left unclenched. “what does she do, exactly?” the latter was almost scared to ask, but their ever shaking hands were now stuffed in their pockets and had no other indication that they were scared out of their mind.
“ YOU KNOW, WITH all my years that i’ve been alive ( and mind you, that’s alot ) children had been better at controlling their unearthly wails of crying –– ” sejun murmurs towards his … somewhat companion beside him all whilst watching a child merely five feet away crying for their mother, unwavering eyes staring in HEAVY distaste before taking a leisure sip of his coffee at hand. “ that beggar’s child is probably going to die if he doesn’t find his mother soon, ” sejun comments once again, blinking once or twice at the thought before retreating back towards the illuminating screen of his cell phone. “ –– pity. ”
“daddy --- you’re making it seem like you’ve been around for too long. and kids..” jamie trailed off, giving the child a pitying glance. “they just need a little love. whatdd’ya say we help him out a little?” they inquired, placing the half-empty cup of coffee on the ground , slipping a hand into his and giving it a soft squeeze. “i don’t want anyone to go through the shit i did, and he could end up in a not so good place if we don’t. please? it’ll only take a second.”
it wasn’t as if he had been spying ( he had definitely been spying ) - it was more along the lines of him being bored. and when daehyun was bored, especially when out in PUBLIC, he tended to find himself falling into a habit of people watching. sometimes it could be entertaining, sometimes even more boring, and sometimes it would be enough for him to accost an innocent civilian and throw them under the bus because of what he saw. there is no shame on his features as he approaches them, looking as if he’s BORED with the scenario already, but that glint in his eyes gave way to the mischief creeping through him, “don’t think i didn’t see that.” daehyun quips out, slow grin forming as his hands hook behind his head comfortably and casually, “in public, too? scandalous.”
jamie hummed innocently, shrugging --- as if they didn’t know what the other was talking about. “ what did you see ? i, for one, didn’t see much of anything. ” of course they chose now to be a perfect time for them to open the picture a certain gorgeous stranger had sent them earlier, not being one to refuse a compliant fuck. nevertheless, they should’ve at least checked their surroundings first, but the coy smile playing at their lips said anything but shamelessness.
