university professor soap that never cancels classes—which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, in his students’ opinions, considering they like him very much as an instructor and enjoy his courses all the same—unless it’s absolutely necessary to do so. receiving a cancellation email from him is about as rare as spotting scotland’s national animal.

so imagine his students’ surprise one unassuming day when they receive an email informing them that their class later on would be cancelled. the reason? “i asked my husband what he wanted for his birthday this year and he said he’d like me to stay home for the day, so that’s what i’m doing. we’ll cover everything we’re missing today next week. cheers.”

(none of his students had even been aware he was married up until that very moment. but hey, they get a break from class because of it.)
