It's been a great first few days working as Lead Contractor at @reachthearc.#Thanks so much for the healthy, clever, and entirely unexpected welcome gift! #TeamARC #RuralElectric #Freelancer
I rarely work away from my house. Why? Because when you're running a #SmallBusiness, every dollar ā and every minute ā counts. Driving to and from coffee shops and paying for food and coffee can become a costly distraction from getting paid client work done. Sometimes, though, I just need the energy that comes from working around other people. Today was one of those days. #SelfEmployed #Marketing #Coffee

NYE 2016 will be marked by a quiet night at home and the accidental discovery of a very drinkable and somewhat local beer. #nevermore #baltimore #poe #thetasteispoetic
This picture is so special to me: We took our kids to see Ice! at the Gaylord last night, and we were able to grab this picture of me with both of them in front of the German portion of the Christmas Around the World exhibit. Both of our kids were born in Germany, so it was neat to have a touch of Germany in our first family Christmas season in the USA. To make things even more special, the Ice! sculptures were carved by Chinese artists from Harbin: home of the world famous Harbin Ice Festival...A festival I had the amazing chance to see in 2007, when I lived overseas for the first time in Taiwan. I had no idea then if I'd ever be blessed with a healthy, happy marriage or two adorable kids. I guess you can never tell quite how your own life's stories will weave into one another until you look back and see the fabric you've created. I'm lucky not just to have lived overseas for more than four of the last ten years, but to have spent part of that time building our family. I'm lucky, I'm so thankful, and I can't wait to look back at the fabric of this precious life of mine in another ten or twenty or thirty years. #Family #Travel #Perspective #latergram

We Fi ally had a romantic child-care date night this weekend. It was the first big date we've had since before the little man was born almost eight months ago. We went to an upscale Chinese restaurant at National Harbor, and this was my fortune: "An old broom knows where the dirt is." If that doesn't make a girl feel romantic, I don't know what would. š
My friend Mariah memefied our Nativity picture. That's a word, right? Meme-fied?

Our Visit to the National Arboretum
One of the most exciting thingsĀ about our move to Northern Virginia is that some of the greatest arts, cultural, and historical sites in America are in the District of Columbia.
