im still convinced they set up the plot of robby being abandoned by his mum so that they can have her come in as a patient next season
robby realising she was capable of being a better mum but he just wasn't worth it. then he starts thinking about all the times in his life when people who he loved and who cared for him chose someone or something else over him and he realises that he's never actually been someone's first priority since his grandmother died. he comes to the conclusion that if he died, everyone else would have someone to support them (even if that's not true)
