do i look like her?
Decided to redraw this old piece of mine from 2018
Old Timeline Bridget having rigid control over Red's life and wanting to make Red just like her vs New Timeline Maddox being more focused on the Pocket Watch than his own son and not caring if Max gets hurt when he attacks the teens.
It bothers me when people think that Max got sent to the Isle with Maddox. Yeah the Newer movies have done some annoying retcons but when the villains all got sent to the Isle isn't one of them. Maddox was probably included when they 'rounded up all the villains' 20-30 years ago. Like the thing with the VKs is that they were born into extreme poverty. New Timeline Bridget isn't a perfect or completely good person and you can kind of see how she failed Maddox, but I don't think she would have sent a Literal Child to the Isle. Descendants isn't the best at exploring the implications of its story but it's also not the most subtle series ever. If Max had been around when Maddox got sent to Isle he would have mentioned it.
About Luis
So I know for sure that I'm not alone in saying that he should NOT have had super-strength like his mother because that's just not how the gift system in Encanto works
I heard somewhere that they planned for him to have fire-powers and I would've much preferred that but anyways
Luis in the movie talks about how he has a lot of expectations on him from his family and while I don't think Luisa would want her son to have the same insecurities at her I have come up with a hc to- hopefully make his character make a bit more sense
Even if they seemed to have solved the family dynamics in the movie- what if Luis's gift stirred up another discussion
Because up until his ceremony each and every Madrigal had gotten their own unique gift but then suddenly- boom
Someone gets a gift identical to their parents
That's not supposed to happen, is there something wrong with the magic? What kept Luis from getting his unique gift
What if that happening is the reason Luis has the struggles he talks about, he has 17 cousins all with unique gifts whereas he is- as Max put it: "Luisa jr"
So because he doesn't have a unique gift like the rest of his family he needs to work harder, he needs to show that he can still be of use
And that just because he has her gift he won't live in his mother's shadow
I haven't made a lot of hc for how Luisa feels during all of this but I- I REFUSE to make her a bad mother!
Let me know what you guys think
lmao their reactions to the dismembering of tinkerbell in '''did you hear about''
"You had a vision about me. I can see it in your face. C'mon, just spit it out."
"I foresee... great darkness in your future."
"Yeah. Figured."
"So. Turns out I'm pretty stupid."
"Yeah."
"Wow. Really expected at least a little push back, there."
We should do more horror with Pink and the fact that she didn't exist in the other timeline. She was an unexpected side effect of messing with time and space. And she doesn't even know it. Imagine how she'd feel if she did.
you know after MAD maddox jumped down from the chandelier landed on his ankle in a really awkward way and had to limp out of the room and bridget laughed at him
Here’s a possible idea for a Descendants fanfic: Pink actually exists in the original timeline but was stolen. In this story, Pink was born, but the Queen kept her hidden from everyone—including Red (which is why Red doesn't know her)—while deciding what to do with her. When the whole Alice incident occurred, Alice found Pink and, wanting to protect her, decided that stealing her was the best course of action (it probably wasn't, but Alice is a child and can be a bit impulsive).
When Alice returned to Auradon, she obviously couldn't take care of a baby, and they couldn't return Pink because reopening the rabbit hole was too dangerous (the Queen posed a risk). Plus, the "Heroes" likely wouldn't want to hand a baby back to a murderous villain, so they decided to keep Pink hidden in Auradon under someone's care. Option One: Queen Belle and King Adam decide to take charge of Pink—almost as a matter of political power. They change her name to Rose (or something similar) and hide her pink hair so no one notices.
Option Two: Cinderella adopts her. People wouldn't be too surprised, though she still has to keep her hidden. Cinderella tries to see her friend in Pink and succeeds, but she feels some guilt about the whole situation. In this version, Pink might be named Bridget, or—to match the naming convention of her other children—perhaps something like Charlotte or Cherry. She also has to hide Pink's hair; in this scenario, Pink grows up as Chad and Chloe's little sister.
Option Three: Someone else—it could be Alice's family, the fairies from Sleeping Beauty, or another royal family.
I’m not sure what else might change regarding the Descendants storyline from there, but I think something interesting could come out of that plot.
my girl having a terrible time no wonder she loses it
Shoutout to Disney’s Descendants for having the most vibes based worldbuilding I’ve ever seen in my life. Legitimately thinking about any of it for more than two seconds makes everything crumble apart logistically and I think there’s an art in that.
