i think while yes red is an asshole and doesnt necessarily know how to approach situations and lashes out when angry she IS kind (shes that supergirl quote "You're not always nice but you're kind. And you're not perfect but you're good,") red comforts chloe in ror after looking in the looking glass, red screams about how she needs pink in who i am and tries to comfort her once they learn about their mom, she apologizes to her mom and how shes terrified of disappointing her in this new tl, she connects with max and says how she believes theres good in his dad and trusts max when basically no one else does and extends a hand to him even after he says he will ruin her life, she apologies to maddox with tears in her eyes over his mental spiral after he has tried to kill her, her friends & her mom and she trusts the vks compared to the rest of them

#it's easier to be cruel than kind and red makes the effort to be kind every time

actually deeply unwell about the way every single line chessie is taunting red with in the labyrinth is either something that's been directly verbalized to her- (chloe's "ruthless" and "selfish," bridget's "you're such a disappointment.") or something that's been directly verbalized to her with a few words removed- (max's "ruined my life" being the paraphrased version of his "you ruined my chances at a normal life.")

that's the only line that was never actually spoken to her, even though it's treated with the exact same weight as all the others that were.

that's the one line chessie had to have pulled straight from red's own beliefs.

#she breaks my heart.#there is discomfort in anything unfamiliar - even if it is ultimately good. i really liked how ww leaned into her instinct to move forward #without thinking and squirm at affection. she has never had the option to think about anyone other than herself before. i believe her #friends will give her the grace and patience to strengthen that muscle - but i hope she also extends that kindness to herself...

i saw a clip from an interview with chloe's actress a while ago where she said she listened pierce the veil to get into character and i felt so stupid. i had never even considered that chloe likes emo music, but it all makes so much sense. i just know all her solo sword fighting practice is done with headphones on blasting collide with the sky, being the exact girl she wants to be.

can we talk abt luis and pink’s dynamic in locker diaries btw, especially in relation to the vks?? like other than chloe, pink and luis are the only other two true hk’s (red is a bit of an in between i think). and they act so sweet with each other, like i feel like everytime they see each other, they along with everyone else, just think “aww…so cute…so cute” because they ARE AAAA

#their dynamic is insanely sweet - it feels like a very real depiction of being friends with your older sibling's significant other.#pink knows she can get away with whatever she wants and she is using that power in a real way.
