The accidental nature of this felt somehow special, as if via the experience this piece was showing me who she was. So, as not to waste it, I dabbed a bit of blood from my finger into this piece. 💗

Skin Wars: Fresh Paint's hit Netflix! I'm finding out with all of you, I'm surprised and happy! I have nothing but happy memories when it comes to Skin Wars. I made so many talented friends, had a blast learning new art skills with Radhika Hersey , Mayuka Thaïs , Timbo Sullivan , Keith Jette , and Apricot Mantle (who you should all check out and give a follow! 💕) Avi Ram was an incredibly skilled and patient mentor. Rio Sirah and Dutch Bihary are also super skilled and were such a bright presence on those days. Emma Cammack Artist and Bodypainter and Mat Gleason were insightful judges. There are so many people to whom I am grateful and I feel so, so, so lucky to have been included in this experience. #metoo It's something I still have not talked about properly; doing so would run the risk of making it "real". It's something so many people can relate to, yet feels like some secret shame. No one asks for this, so why is there such a feeling of guilt and shame that comes with it? Why is there so much self-disgust? Why is someone else's hand allowed to feel like it can ruin you? How does one forgive themself for freezing when your convictions had promised you otherwise? My art has hovered anti-magnetically around the overtly personal for a long time. Getting deeper, approaching frightful honesty... these are things I consider as we creep closer to 2018.
