Sitting on a stool by the counter, with one earplug plugged on her right ear and the other free to catch any conversation that might happen around her, Caroline patiently went through the big pile of tests she had put there. There were no tables available when she had got there, so it was either the counter or home and there was absolutely no way she would get anything done if she took the pile back to the apartment, she was woman enough to admit that. There was always a system when it came to Callie. Blue for good grades and pink for bad â she didnât like the red association with really bad things, so she always traded for pink, made it seem more cheerful than not. Stretching her back and cracking the sides of her neck, she let out a sigh and drank the last few sips of the coffee before calling a heavily pregnant waitress to meet her. Should that woman even be working at that point? âHiâ I need more coffee, please,â she pointed to the pile of paper and made a help me face to the girl.
âComing right up.â the woman said as she waddled her way over to the coffee pot. It was her last day at the grind and surprisingly the brunette had some energy today. The baby was in a good mood and while she didnât get as much sleep as she wouldâve liked, her moods was pretty good. Mina couldnât wait for the shift to be over though so she could go pick up some cupcakes at red velvet and head home to finish watching Sabrina. Mina made her way back with the pot in her hand and filled up her mug. âIs all of that papers you have to grade? I do not envy you.â the brunette chuckled lightly. âBut you came to the right place. Would you like a cake pop or some kind of pastry, too? Itâll make you feel better.â
