Hey Hey!

I decided I'mma just make a BTS post here as a way to elaborate on a couple of things I completely forgot to touch on in the video itself. :3

More Below the Cut!

The Comic was inspired by the clip from Turning Red where Mei Mei asks her mom if she's petty. Why didn't it stay that way, you may be asking? Well! That's quite literally because I wasn't sure how to edit the wholesome moment together in a way I liked, and after reading over both Lilith's and Suriel's Toyhouse, I desperately felt compelled to add him in there too.

The Idea I settled on was something akin to a Nightmare Lilith may have about the kind of person Suriel grew up to be since he was taken under Heaven's (Gabriel's) Care. I wanted it to touch on the remorse she may (or may not) feel towards not being able to be closer to him and any other kids she may have scarcely thought about since their conception.

I ended up changing a couple things from the initial version of the comic I made due to 2 separate reasons:

1. The Original Scene between Suriel attacking Lilith felt way too Unnecessarily Extreme and was swapped for something more Religious and Tasteful

2. The Prologue was cut due to it not fitting in the spread naturally and it possibly diverting a bit too much away from my Original idea

The Music Credits throughout the video were made on my whiteboard with two vastly different whiteboard markers in terms of quality. I was initially gonna make the song names pop up at the bottom of the frames like Text Boxes in Visual Novels, but nnaaaaahhhh. I didn't like how crowded it'd make it, so I settled on the next best thing.

The idea of drawing other, tangentially related OCs that also belong to Pantamonte was a last minute idea too! I argue it came out alright, and I matched the characters with the songs they'd relate to, to some degree to the best of my ability. :3

I Highly Recommend anyone who isn't familiar with Grim's work to check out their art and support them! Also, yeah, whenever I said "You" in the video, I was accidentally referring to Grim and I am so embarrassed at how often I've done it omlll 😭😭😭
