Oh my god why am I so awkward
Been chatting to a guy I met Friday night and I kind let myself I to bring asked out because I said I'm a disappointment to mankind because I've never watched pulp fiction, and now I don't know what to reply because I wanna but I'm awkward and cringe as fuck
Person: "What's the matter with you?"
Me: "Nothing, I'm fine"
Person: "Seriously what's wrong?"
Me: " oh y'know, my body just hates me"
Person: "....oh"
Hello from the
This tickled me so much đđđđđđđđđđđđđ
This may be the most true thing Iâve ever seen. To anybody whoâs ever been told theyâre too sensitive, I say that your strengths actually come from a societally-perceived weakness. Hereâs to the criers, the laughers, the smilers, the learners, the empathizers, and all of the other ones who constantly put themselves out on the line.
A Reminder That âPrincess Leiaâ Is An O.G. Mental Health Hero
How We Treat Mental Illness Vs. How We Treat Physical Illness
God, seriously.
also, i like these weird character designs.
Hi! Actually the problem with these posts, as well intentioned as they are, is that they dont actually mention that people with chronic physical illnesses are treated EXACTLY LIKE THIS. So actually..mental illnesses are treated like physical illnesses. Myself and all of my sick friends have heard versions of all of these before, and much worse.
Iâm so worried that the photo post is so long people will read it and skip the comments so it bears repeating, PHYSICAL ILLNESSES ARE TREATED EXACTLY LIKE THIS TOO!
Neuroqueer Nidoqueen: âThe tiny number of people actually faking disabilities is nothing compared to the number of disabled people faking not being disabled.â
Yet the disabled people who give in to societal pressure to hide their disabilities are the ones who most often get accused of faking, when they no longer can or desire to pass and begin to let their disabilities show.
âNidoqueen
I just wanna randomly applaud in front of my screen for this. This is what Iâve been telling people but the wording is so much better here.
[Image of Nidoqueen with text that reads, âThe tiny number of people actually faking disabilities is nothing compared to the number of disabled people faking not being disabled]
this is me
As a disabled person, I donât like that my life is viewed as a constant reminder to non-disabled people that it could always be worse, and I donât like that Iâm considered inspirational simply for living the life Iâve been given. Disabled people donât exist to inspire non-disabled people or to remind them that there are no excuses in life, or that life could always be worse. We did not ask to be feel-good story on the 5 oâclock news when we go to football games, get asked to prom, or graduate high school. Those are just normal teenage things and it shouldnât be any more inspiring because you do them sitting in a wheelchair or with some other disability.
What Youâre Really Saying When You Call Me âInspirationalâ (via ceepstyle)
if you ever feel bad about yourself just remember that if you were a fictional character people would probably love you for all your flaws and quirks and mannerisms that you probably hate so just remember that okay ilu
why is this literally the most uplifting post Iâve seen in weeks thank you
People with chronic illnesses go through a tremendous amount of physical and emotional pain. So please, before you say âit canât be that badâ or âyouâll be fineâ or âtry this and thatâ or âits all in your headâ know that we have to live with this pain every single day for the rest of our lives and by saying this youâre just making it harder for us. Youâll never know how it feels to be in our bodies, so stop acting like you know whatâs best for us.Â
things abled people think of when they hear âaccessibilityâ:
- ramps! for wheelchairs! and⌠stalls! for wheelchairs! - braille! on the signs! - thatâs it thatâs the end
things disabled people need:
- easily accessible seating - air conditioned buildings - water access - food inside dietary restrictions - quiet places - seated or nonexistent lines - easy exit - and much, much more
(feel free to add your own)
Re-blogging âcause I think everyone could use this at one point in there life or another.
As someone who did this for 6 months when I was living in halls, I agree with this statement. Honestly if there is something or someone causing you to lock yourself away find someone to talk to, get help and donât give into it.
I will reblog this every time.
Literally this.
