Charles Hendrix showed me around his Aquaponics greenhouse the other day.
Aquaponics is a growing process in which Tilapia (and, less so, goldfish and koi) provide nutrients for the plants (which are primarily lettuces and others which thrive with constantly wet roots) and the plant beds help filter the water.

Flavored Lemonades
I absolutely LOVE lemonades and fresh fruit. I went to this wonderful cafe, Ms. Dahlia’s Cafe, with one of my best friends in Brooklyn. I had the best cucumber lemonade in life! I immediately went on the hunt to find a recipe. in my search, I came across a great blog, A Beautiful Mess, that has some amazing recipes for lemonades. I had to share. So here you go, enjoy, and I WILL POST MY OWN CREATIONS…after the snow melts.
Love, love, luv.

"Each vitamin rich and nutrient packed ingredient assists the body's bloodstream, digestive and cellular structure. The STIMULATION and NOURISHMENT of these plants in turn can be thought of us an APHRODISIAC because of these restorative qualities; which in turn restore cells and assist with creating an active libido."~Nebu The Herbalist

HEALTHY HEART
Ingredients
3 pounds medium asparagus
1 1/2 pounds Brussels sprouts
9 romaine hearts
6 avocados
1/4 c extra virgin olive oil
Pink Himalayan sea salt
Freshly ground black pepper
2 garlic bulb, roasted and smashed
1 bunch parsley, roughly chopped
Finely grated zest and juice of 1 grapefruit, 5 lemons, 4 limes, 2 oranges
Directions
1. Preheat the oven to 375°F. Roast garlic bulbs wrapped in foil for 30 minutes.
2. Trim the base away from the Brussels sprouts and discard. Cut the sprouts in half and spread on a baking sheet, cut sides down. Pour extra virgin olive-oil onto the baking sheet and tilt around to distribute evenly. Add the Brussels sprouts and toss until they are fully coated. Roast until the sprouts are crispy on the outside and golden and caramelized on the cut sides, for 30 minutes.
3. In a small bowl, whisk the zest and juice of grapefruit, lemons, limes, and oranges with honey to combine. Transfer citronette to a saucepan and reduce over medium heat for 15 minutes. Add chopped parsley after removing reduction from heat.
4. Grill the asparagus over moderate heat, turning often, until they are just tender for about 5 minutes total. Transfer the asparagus to a platter and drizzle with citronette dressing. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
5. Light a grill or preheat a grill pan. Cut hearts in half lengthwise and drizzle with olive oil. Place romaine hearts cut side down on the grill for about one minute until they have grill marks and the edges start to wilt. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
6. In a blender or food processor, pulse the roasted garlic, avocados and lemon juice to combine until a smooth butter forms. Season with salt and pepper.
