hi, i'm rachel, but rae is fine too. i have always had a hard time with being seen, if it's in real life or online and i want to change that. this blog is a way for me to share my life with a bunch of strangers on the internet, because sometimes that's easier than doing that with the people i know. i love making friends so don't hesitate to interact with my posts, send an ask or private message :)

i cant believe youre supposed to entertain people always or youre cast out of the village and left to starve in the desert

my grandmother uses a special taxi service made for the elderly and people with disabilities to get around our city from point a to b with ease. but because quite some people use it, you have to schedule your rides at least a day in advance. you can either call the customer service or schedule a ride through the app.

my grandma chose to do the latter, but instead of doing it herself (because she's tech illiterate) she got me to schedule her rides. it's simple: she gives me a call, tells me when and where she needs to go and i put it into the app and everything is great.

well today everything was not great. my grandma goes to church every sunday. obviously she isn't the only person who uses the taxi service to attend church services, so you have to schedule your ride two days in advance instead of one to secure your ride. sometimes i remember to schedule her rides on my own, but because i'm only human, i told her to always remind me about it. well guess what she didn't do yesterday.

this (saturday) morning i realized that i didn't schedule her ride. i tried my luck anyway, but the app said the time slots, she needs to be on time, were already full.

i hate having to call her to tell her she can't go to church, because although she would never say it's my fault, i know my grandmother. it makes me not want to schedule her rides anymore, because i'm doing her a favor, but she's acting like it's my responsibility to keep track of her calendar. i would never tell her to just schedule her rides through the customer service, but i honestly wish i had the balls to tell her that so this wouldn't happen again.
