moving on

The last three months of my life have been the hardest; from being completely head over heels in love with a guy to having to get over him has been one of the biggest challenges I have faced so far. It really got me thinking about how one is supposed to move on from their ex-lover and I came to the conclusion that:

1. It is impossible to get over someone while you are kept “in the loop” of their life.

For me, I didn’t want to seem immature and unfollow him on Instagram and delete his number [even though he broke my heart] but seeing him posting photos and liking the post’s of other girls , who weren’t me, only broke my heart more.

2. You can’t be friends with your ex straight after your breakup [unless it wasn’t a serious relationship/it didn’t affect either one of you].

3. Seeing him for the first time after you breakup will be the hardest and possibly the most painful day. BUT it does get easier.

4. The flashbacks are what hurt the most. It’s every memory around every second corner that breaks your heart because you are forced to face the fact that you two are no longer.

5. You have to surround yourself with people that make you happy.

If there’s anyone going through a heartbreak that’s reading this, I hope you find the happiness you truly deserve and hang in there because it does get better.
