Speaking of Boards of Canada, it's really intriguing how Inferno is a very "new aeon" type of album. It seems to paint our perception of religion as a whole in a very disdainful light, lots of emphasis on cults, and in a way, it seems to pose the question, "What makes something a 'religion' vs a 'cult'?" Very Age of Aquarius, with the themes of fetal growth, of course tied to the idea of death-and-rebirth. Perhaps urging nobody in particular to leave established religion behind, question what world future generations will inherit, question what's holding us back as a species, seek enlightenment as a collective rather than under a singular god/doctrine? I am very tired, I'll refine this idea at some point.

Every time I get back into Boards of Canada, which happens to me in short bursts, I get it in my head that I want to get back into making music. I think I'm more of a music poser than anything. I'm really into the idea of...album art, samples, track names. I don't know anything about mixing, and I can't read music, plus time signatures are completely inscrutable to me. I think it's better for everyone if I give up the ghost on that one. Though, I guess if anyone wants an aesthetic advisor for their experimental album, hit me up?
