ok I decided to finish off all the gnomes!!!!! there were only a few left so why not. (i didnt realize the grey backgrounds were so jarringly different whoops)

now there's one for every flight! a full festival cycle lol! listing them in order of their appearances in this post, as well as their rodent inspiration

the only "rules" for this "beastclan" are: gotta be a rodent, gotta have some elemental attribute to reflect what the Garden Gnome has going on (and the fenfisher flattail, kind of, if you can call a normal beaver paddle tail inherently water-themed). that's it!

In the song Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer, the lyrics make it clear that the eponymous Grandma died.

Even if she was not immediately killed by the hoof to her forehead, she was laying unconscious in the snow the entire night of Christmas Eve and was not found until the morning of Christmas Day. Even a healthy elderly woman would have died of hypothermia in those circumstances, not to mention an elderly woman who had severe head trauma.

The narrator states that the family is dressed in black and that "it's not Christmas [Day] without Grandma." You could make the (frankly ludicrous) argument that it's Christmas without Grandma because maybe she is hospitalized, but then why would the family be dressed in mourning clothes? The entire family being goths seems unlikely.

The song was recorded in 1978, a time in which the nascent goth subculture was in its infancy. Are we to believe this was an entire family of multigenerational goths who existed a year before the release of Bauhaus' seminal "Bela Lugosi's Dead?" AND if the entire family were goths, wearing black on Christmas should not be noteworthy enough to mention. Any rational person should come to the conclusion that like Bela Lugosi, Grandma is dead.

Any adaptation in which Grandma survives is historical revisionism.

i always thought Grandpa killed her, and is trying to frame Santa for a hit and run so he doesn't get caught as the murderer. that's why he's the only other person who apparently believes that Santa did it, other than the grandkid who is singing. that's also why he's not grieving as much as the rest of the family. he's drinking and playing cards! he's only dressed in black to try not to look suspicious! he killed his wife!

A summary of my new years day

Mneeeeeh I’m not really sure how that tert’d work with it, but lemme see how it looks with Poison *scrying workshop* .... HOLYSHIT!!!!!”

I swear to Arcanist this dragon is the PERFECT, and I do mean PERFECT Poison Butterfly Glimmer candidate I have ever encountered! The creamy reddish brown  accent of the Poison goes with the Creamy reddish brown of the rust, and the aqua glimmer goes beautifully with the aqua accent color of the rust. The purple accent of the Rust butterfly matches the fucking eye color.

I have no Idea if I want to keep them or auction them off but holyshit was this a surprise Gem of a Nocturne and I wanted to share!

I feel like some people don’t know that tipping is mainly an American thing because American waiters are severely underpaid. Heck, some East Asian countries consider tipping to be insulting.  Anyways, really do love getting tips for my artwork, but I won’t be disappointed if I don’t receive any.

Except virtually everyone lumps it in with “American things” and it clearly isn’t. Assuming everything “wrong with the world” is an American thing is like assuming Americans are the only ones guilty of being homophobic.

It seems like you might be projecting onto this person though… All they said was essentially that tipping doesn’t happen everywhere, and they were correct that in some places it’s seen as an insult. They certainly did not hint that they believed America was the root of all horrible. However, it is well known both in America and out that America doesn’t pay wait staff well, which I feel is what they were really getting at. A waiter’s wages is a bit bigger discussion here, so most Americans believe tipping is just what is supposed to happen. Where they are, it seems tipping isn’t as big, so they don’t mind not being tipped. It isn’t something that is second nature in their society. I believe that’s what they were saying.
