I understand why it was cut, story wise.

From Eddie/Adam, as I recall at the time, this scene wasn't cut or scripted. So my conclusion is JMO/Colin improved it(like they sometimes do). Perhaps they felt it was a good insert to the scene that Adam/Eddie would let them have. Probably Adam/Eddie thought it was too soon for this type of emotional interaction (hugging) from Hook/Emma...despite they have kissed each other already. Maybe Adam/Eddie thought lust from the S3A kiss was okay but this hug is borderline 'relationshippy'. They also still had to deal with the Neal triangle and didn't want the audience to just forget about him.

I too was mad/angry when it aired and we got no hug. I was like WTF.... That is the risk at looking at filming stuff online before it shows on TV.
