New video!! This was taken yesterday at the woodshop. As you can see it was successful. During our final runs in class today, it worked perfectly too! The other rube goldber machines in our class were much more extravagant and nice looking, but we were one of the most consistent in the class. What a rush!!

So remember that Koopa Shell? I know you’ve seen the video but I didn’t properly explain it in text. I mean it’s super self explanatory once you see it but whatever! Anyways, it’ll roll down after being pushed by that empty cup and hit this Pokegolf ball. Then the Pokegolf ball will fall down and hit the switch on our lamp, turning it on!

RJ and Reynato sent in some videos of the machine working and not working. This is a compilation of their troubleshooting. There’s two or so clips of it actually working! Isn’t that exciting?
Also, RJ, you need to work on that potty mouth. >:(

Here it is! Our penultimate step!
So that second cup, the blue one, will be lifted up, right? Since it’s just under the lip of this slope, the cup will lift up and tip over on the slope, knocking a Red Koopa Shell (Thanks McDonalds!!) down the slope. There’s a couple Pokemon cards there to help guide it. I sure hope none of the cards we used were worth anything...

I’m kidding! So here’s the low-down on the pulley and fidget spinner:
Remember how I said a ball would fall onto the bounce-pad and into the FUNnel? That ball will fall down and hit the fidget spinner, knocking a Bakugan (this one’s black! I think it’s a Darkus attribute.) down into the cup.
The cup is held up by the pulley, and the two cups are equal in weight, so they stay in their places. But when the Bakugan drops into the first cup, it brings the second cup upward. You’ll see why in a quick second, RJ and Reynato said they’re close to finishing the final step.

Here’s photos of our pulley system and the fidget spinner gear! That didn’t take very long, did it?
So basically what happens in this section, is just a buncha falling stuff.

Here’s another update from RJ and Reynato! There’s also a new doo-dad, a bounce pad and a FUNnel! On the photo, you can see the little wood pad. A ball is intended to bounce or roll into the FUNnel they’ve made. The ball would then fall through the bottom, like a real funnel.
Aside from that, there’s also the fidget spinner gear that was placed onto our machine. I didn’t get a photo of that though, maybe later when I remember.

If it wasn’t obvious already, our theme for our Rube Goldberg machine is ‘Toys’. Hence the Bakugan and B-Daman and the cards.

Happy New Years! RJ and Reynato put some more supports on the machine, for stability purposes. There’s some near the base of the machine, and some near the top now. Wish I could help. :/

Here’s the ball bearing gear that I talked about earlier. Also, the pad for the Bakugan to land on is here too, and so is an extra Yu-Gi-Oh! card to increase chances of the Bakugan hitting the gear. Oh joyous day!

RJ and Reynato sent me pictures of their progress. They assembled our backboard (made of cardboard), made the Pokemon Card and Yu-Gi-Oh! halfpipes, the cup-gate, and a stand for my Strike=Cobra B-Daman (that green thing that shoots marbles).
For the purpose of clarity, the cup-gate is that thing with the cup. It’s meant to catch the marble (or B-Da Ball if you want to be a nerd) from the B-Daman up there. Once it does that, the black bit lifts up, letting the Bakugan roll downward.
There’s also a gear near the end of the Yu-Gi-Oh! halfpipe, it was made with a fidget spinner ball bearing and some dowels.
