siobhan minerva lancaster was born in seattle, washington, to a woman who had never found her soulmate. siobhan’s mother was named poppy, and poppy’s soulmark was that of poppy flower. siobhan grew up with her single mother, and though life wasn’t fantastic, it was good enough for a growing girl. her nickname, minnie, came along when her name proved hard for kindergarteners and teachers alike to pronounce.

it was in her later teenage years that things started to go south. poppy’s soulmark started to burn worse than anything poppy had felt before, and even though siobhan acted quickly, trying to help her mother, she soon went into a coma after being admitted to the hospital.

poppy never woke up, and at the age of eighteen it was on siobhan’s shoulders to pull the plug on her mother’s life support. siobhan drew in on herself after this, the death of her mother worse than anything she had ever experienced. she moved in with her aunt to finish out high school, but with only one month left she dropped out - staying in her room at all hours of the day and busying herself with vodka and drawing ; the only thing that brought her any source of joy.

her aunt let her crash with her until siobhan was twenty-one, and then threatened to kick her out if she didn’t start taking care of herself. it was tough love, and it was the only way siobhan got back on her feet and out into the real world once again. she became an apprentice for a famous tattoo artist in seattle, and though life was starting to look up - siobhan was not the same as she used to be. with her own apartment, siobhan started to go wild. she went out partying every night, slept in beds that weren’t hers, woke up in unfamiliar rooms with unfamiliar people at her side. her apprenticeship ended and she became an actual tattoo artist, although she ended up fired after sleeping with the owner’s wife.

and so it turned out a tattoo parlor in jericho was hiring ; they contacted her directly and urged her to join. siobhan was skeptical at first, unsure if she wanted to be in a place filled with the kind of love that had made her lose her mother, a kind of love that she swore up and down she didn’t believe in. maybe she moved to jericho with the subconscious thought that it wouldn’t be so bad to find her soulmate ; she would never admit that to herself.
so here she is, a tattoo artist with a fucked up outlook on life & desperately hard to get along with.
