Granada, Spain 🇪🇸
Located in southern Spain, Granada is a city rich in history and cultural fusion.
Once the last stronghold of Muslim rule during the Reconquista, Granada is best known for the breathtaking Alhambra. Built in the 13th century by the Nasrid dynasty, the Alhambra reflects a stunning blend of Islamic art and architecture. After the Christian conquest in 1492, the city transformed, combining Moorish and Spanish influences that still shape its unique identity today.
Grodno Castle, Poland 🇵🇱
Grodno Castle is a medieval hilltop fortress located in southwestern Poland. It was originally built in the 13th century, most likely during the rule of Piast dynasty, to protect the nearby borderlands and trade routes.
During the following centuries, the castle was expanded and strengthened several times. In the 16th century, it became a Renaissance-style residence, combining defensive walls with more comfortable living spaces. Later, wars and political changes caused damage, and the castle gradually lost its military importance.
By the 18th and 19th centuries, it had partly fallen into ruin, but restoration work saved the structure. Today, Grodno Castle is a popular tourist attraction known for its towers, old chambers, legends, and beautiful views over the surrounding mountains and lake.
