           "And you know what? I’m perfectly fine with that.“ Callie said with a shrug of her shoulders, a easy smile forming on her lips. She hated that she didn’t know all the details of her daughter’s dance career off the top of her head – but being the head of Ortho, she expected as much. She knew when to show up though, and that’s what was important. "You’re going to kick ass in every dance that you do next weekend, Aggs. Especially that big group one.”

               “As long as you’re sure Madre.” she said softly as she smiled at the Latina as she curled up into her mothers side. She knew there were times that her mothers didn’t get to go to things, they had their work schedules which were always insane but she didn’t blame them for not being there, they were there for the important things and to her, that was all that mattered, she did wish they were there more often but nothing she could “I hope so Madre --- I really hope so. I don’t want to screw up or anything.”

          “Yeah but saying it and meaning it are two completely different things. And in this case, it’s important that you know I mean what I’m saying.” Callie gave her another grin. “You have a second routine?” She asked, immediately wrapping an arm around her daughter and pulling her in even closer. No matter what happened in her life, or how big she got, one thing was always going to be true – she was Callie’s baby.

                 Aggie smiled lightly and rolled her eyes in her Madres response “That might be so but you’re still bias.” she teased playfully in response as she put the outfit away. Hearing her Madre’s question, Aggie nodded her head, smiling as she felt the Latina’s arms wrap around her, pulling the blonde in tighter “I do, I have a duo with another girl and I was offered the solo spot as well. I’ve got a group one as well but everyone has their costumes at the dance studio. They’re just white pillow cases made into short dresses and we were our short white shorts underneath, it’s about slavery and freedom. Big powerful piece.”

          “You know what I think?” Callie asked the second that her daughter held up her costume for the show. “I think that my baby girl is going to look absolutely beautiful in that next weekend. You’re actually going to shine like the star that you are.” Giving her a thumbs up, she was happy that Aggie didn’t seem to be as sad as she had been just moments before. She couldn’t ease her worries – not these, at least – but at least she could still make her smile.

           Hearing her mother ask if she knew what she thought, Aggie tilted her head to the side listening as she spoke before her cheeks flushed red before she smiled “Madre, you’re my mother, which means you’re bias and you have to say that.” she chuckled lightly in reply before placing her costume back inside “That’s one costume, I’m working on designing a second one for my second routine.” she remarked lightly as she moved back to her mother before sliding into the spot beside her, nearly on the other woman’s lap.

            “And you can tell that you love it, Aggs. That’s why I don’t think you should hold back – go do what you love.” She offered a smile, shrugging her shoulders a little. She really hoped that Aggie would do it, that she wouldn’t stop herself from such a great opportunity. At her daughter’s question, Callie’s smile grew even brighter. “Are you kidding me? Of course I want to see it, Aggie! Show me, show me, show me!”

                Aggie nodded her head, listening as her mother spoke about how much she loved dancing and to not hold back. It meant that she was going with her original routine, not the second one she had designed to not hurt the others, but that wasn’t going to work. Seeing her mothers smile lit up, Aggie grinned and slipped off the bed and padded towards her wardrobe, rummaging around inside before pulling out a pink, purple, silver and black leotard with a half skirt and glitter everywhere. Turning around she held it up for the Latina to see “This is my costume.”

          “Are you kidding me? I know without a doubt in my mind that you are going to be nothing short of spectacular. One of my favorite things about watching you dance is that you can see how passionate you are about it. When you’re up there, you can see so much more than just your talent – you can see how much you love it. You’re going to be great, Aggie. I know it, your mom knows it – and it’s okay if you don’t believe that. Between the two of us, your mother and I will believe in that enough for you.”

              Aggie bit her lip as she listened to the Latina as she spoke. Her mother had high praises for her, she had only hoped she could live up to both of their expectations. Sighing, she pulled her knees up to her chest, nodding as her mother spoke. “I love dance Madre,I really do, it’s my life --- my everything. I always have fun, whether I’m dancing on stage o dancing home -- I just -- love it.” she whispered softly before looking back over at her”As long as you both believe and come there, then i’ll be fine ---- I’ve got my costume, do you want to see it.?”

          “Not exactly… but we live together so we have lots of the same ones and I’ll probably get yours anyways.”

       “You get my germs because you’re my Madre and you LOVE me and you do things with me and you cook me dinner and you do my hair and and you love me.”

“Um. I would never go out looking like a cow, so don’t worry about that. Not really sure what to go as, to be honest, but we have a while to figure it out.”

“Well that’s rather refreshing, considering it’d love to not look like a cow either. Although I’m sure Moms would love it if we did look like cows, then we wouldn’t get hit on or anything.”

          “Of course I’ll come with you.” Callie said softly, the question taking her by surprise. There was no universe in which she would ever let her daughter go through something like that alone. “I’ll be right there with you, I promise. And we’ll get you through this. We’ll make sure that he faces some type of consequences for what he tried to do – for what he’s probably done with some other girl. I support you, Aggie, one hundred percent.”

            Aggie nodded her head in reply, her Madre was right, she was totally right. She was going to go with her to sort it out, her mother was always there, and she always would be. She nodded her head tearfully before turning to wrap her arms around the Latina “Thank you Madre, I love you so much, thank you for always being there.” she cried softly, this really was beginning to get so much her head felt like it was going to explode.
