It appeared as if the words struck some sort of chord within the creature. That gaze which had been piercing through Hanbei only moments ago now shifted, following a subtle turn of the head in the direction of what presumably could be the village that Obsidian was so adamantly “guarding”. Such a word was used loosely as it hadn’t been the original reason for her lingering; construction and fieldwork however, was.
Many of the villagers were in need of assistance, so how could the dragoness say no? Sure they were nervous at first, anyone would be around a creature twice their size and filled to the brim with magma, but Obsidian proved to be quite friendly. Just… a little quiet, if not intimidating.
“We will just have to see… won’t we?”
From how quiet the words were spoken, it was obvious that Obsidian was speaking to only herself in that moment - thinking. Every conceivable option was unpredictable; how many villagers would get hurt, what of the village itself? Who would Obsidian anger should she reduce a group of soldiers to ash, and would more be sent? It was hard to juggle it all.
“Should any soldiers march upon this soil with such intent, I will take them all on myself. I will not stand idly should these innocent people be threatened.”
Stubborn, stubborn...
Yet Hanbei could not shake his FEELINGS
of an utter yearning. The overbearing massive
stature towering him was too enticing. The
worst part of it all was that he could envision
her a WARRIOR leading as a general in the
Toyotomi army. With an attractive set of morals,
the stranger was ideal for a BATTLER in this
tactician’s mind.
Well, it seems she would not get in the way of
his plans. He was not too worried with forcing
the creature onto his side yet. He felt he knew
what could pressure a change in that noble mind
when the pieces fall into place. So he refused to
waste too much of his time.
“You sound so confident...interesting. And here
I was oh so worried.”
SARCASM? Who knew, but he in truth saw
himself within the monster of a woman. The
beauty of VIRTUE, caring for one’s neighbors,
the weaker. True, the power both wielded were
different, but one thing was for certain: Hanbei
was bent on the safet of the people of Mino
through and through.
