Normally, I’m an absolute sucker for childhood friends to lovers, but have you ever considered… childhood friends to strangers?

When they both realise they know almost nothing about each other anymore, and the awkward silences are more so than if it were with any other person, since they are meant to know each other inside-out, and their reconnection is meant to be as easy as it was when they were three, or five, or even ten. Why is it so difficult to talk when they’re both adults?

Beirut is being absolutely wrecked right now. God knows what the casualty numbers are, everyone living there is SOMEONE, you know? Like you and everyone else you know. With pasts with futures they look forward to with dreams with entire worlds inside them.
