So. It's kinda a rant post, as I haven't posted here for a while since I forgot to do so / don't have much to post / busy irl. But! I realised that over the years (yeah, shocker, I know) that my TTS characters have existed for, they have changed, and the most recent change that I had made and (of course) didn't post about is my turtles' names and the overall lore behind their upbringing and dynamics between each other as siblings. (My English in the past was actually pretty bad, ngl)
Behold! I present to you the recent info abt the turtles of mine.
Info:
Nathaniel Riker (aka Nad) — The older brother of the family of 5 turtles (including himself). The provider / the protector of the family, being the one to find and take in the other turtles, accepting them as his siblings and responsibility. Though he is an older brother, he served more of a parental role to his younger siblings their whole lives, making sure that they were comfortable and happy, aware that they can always come to him if something happens. Had to grow up very, very early due to him living on the streets of the Hidden City, then additionally becoming a brother to Vincent (Noir in the past, early versions), and over time getting more people to take care of.
Nad
\/
Vincent Riker (aka Vin / Vinnie) — The second oldest brother of the family of 5 turtles. The caretaker / the teacher, being the one to look after the younger siblings quite a good chunk of the day, teaching them the rules that were established in their family, and making sure that the others follow them. He always was the softer one in comparison to Nad, partially thanks to his older brother finding him pretty early in life, and from then on always keeping him around and safe. Because of Nad finding Vin pretty early in both of their lives, Vin got to learn quite a good piece of things and get to see the hardships that Nad had to go through just to get Vin to be safe and fed, while searching for shelter for the two of them. Vin was one of the family members to experience life of a street kid that was being taking care of by the other street kid that was only 4 months older than Vin himself. When Nad found Bill, Vincent could see just that his older brother was becoming a little desperate to find shelter for now three of them, but eventually he did find a place, as well as he found himself a job (ofc not legally, nobody's gonna employ a 11 year old Yokai boy). Vin pretty quickly taught Bill and later Sally and Sam how to clean the place and to keep quiet whenever Nad was sleeping, because Vin himself was always the one to notice and understand things.
Vin

William Riker (aka Bill) — The third oldest brother of the family of 5 turtles. The responsible one / the admirer, being the one to always follow the rules that Nad had established in their family, because of Bill being pretty much the last of their trio to experience life of a street kid and so being aware that the rules weren't added without a reason. He admires Nad, his older brother, with how strong he is in more than one way, and always looks up to him. Growing up, he was the one to quickly remind his younger siblings that they can't and shouldn't break the rules when the last two turtles were up to any mischief, so early on he was often called a partypooper. But that didn't stop him from snitching to any of his brothers available in the moment about the rule being broken, since he knew that breaking at least one of them is pretty bad, as the rules were pretty reasonable, after all, so breaking them was equal to putting themselves in danger. When they became older, Bill will always pull his younger siblings out of any crappy situation, and when he knew he couldn't do it himself, he'll call for his older brothers.
Bill

Saloméa Riker (aka Sally) — The middle sister of the family of 5 turtles. The brakes / the mood bringer, being the one to read the room and try and change the mood for the better, as well as to stop Sam from doing something entirely idiotic and outright dangerous. She was already the one to be taken in by Nad when the family already had a permanent shelter, so she didn't experience that much of a street kid life on her own, as she doesn't even remember that much of it anyway. She always liked when Nad played with them when they were younger, despite him coming back from work and jumping head first into his family's life, but Sally always had a feeling that her oldest brother was exhausted, yet still giving all of them his attention. So she learned very quickly that whenever Nad was asleep, they all need to keep it down, because of him needing to have some rest. Sure, she could and would sometimes cause mischief with her younger brother Sam, but it usually would've been pretty harmless, and she didn't see anything bad in breaking a rule or two that their family had, just to have some bit of fun. Until she learned the hard way why Nad had established them in the first place, and why Vin and Bill always told her to follow those rules. When she became older, she still would follow whatever rules her oldest brother had for them, despite being already a teenager.
Sally

Samuel Riker (aka Sam) — The youngest brother of the family of 5 turtles. The mischievous one / the trouble finder, being the one to always get into some sort of crappy situation because of him breaking rules that he thought were unnecessary. He was the last one found and taken in by Nad, also in the period when they already had the permanent shelter and had some stability in life thanks to Nad's efforts. Sam was always up to something, being pretty loud kid, even louder than Sally was before, and also pretty energetic, seeking out things to do. He learned to keep it down when Nad was asleep, but often forgot and became loud again, having to be reminded by his older siblings to be quiet. Sam always thought of Bill as a partypooper because he always snitched to Vin and Nad when Sam wanted to break a rule or two, unlike Sally, who agreed on some good bit of mischief, though also being the one to anchor Sam when he was going too far too fast. He still though of the main rule they had back when they were younger as something stupid and completely unnecessary, until one situation he'd gotten himself into, and even worse is that he'd gotten Sally into that as well. Sam thought of Nad as just a bit boring older kid, all until the situation, when Nad had to come to the rescue of his youngest two siblings. Sam didn't knew how Nad had found him and Sally, but he was thankful that his oldest brother did found them in time, as that day became the day when Sam finally realised that Nad was badass (in his young little mind). When they became older, Sam still knew better than to not listen to Nad, subsiding his mischievous behavior and starting to use his brain before doing something stupid. That didn't help that much, but it was still better than nothing.

It was a while since the little turtle — Nad, as he started to call himself now — has been changed into whow he looks now. To be exact, it has been 4 years since that. And also 3 years since the big fire in the middle of the Hidden City, literally. As much as Nad can remember, it was some Yokai's laboratory that had been destroyed, but he didn't think much of it. Even if he probably should've.
Currently he was walking down another alleyway, covered in some piece of dirty sand colored cloak, but it was pretty much just a torn off piece of tarpaulin-like fabric, an improvised "bag" was slung over his small shoulder. Small footsteps were almost silent, because drawing attention could cause trouble for Nad, just like 5 months ago when some Yokais near the Port spotted him and tossed a net over him, then talking about "selling some product". Nad didn't understand what product they were talking about, but he'd got a bad feeling about this and chewed his way out of the fishnet and ran away. He didn't wanted this to happen again, so he was quiet and sneaky. He knew where to find some food, as there were good dumpsters in some districts, and there were many people as well, which meant that sneaking away a bun or two wasn't that hard. He just didn't needed to be caught, that's all. He saw that the police officers cuffed a Yokai who stole something at the market, saying that he's under arrest. Nad didn't like the scene, even if he didn't knew what arrest is, so he was careful not to be caught. He suddenly snapped out of his thoughts by some sound he heard when passing by a pretty big cardboard box left next to a dumpster, stopping in his tracks. Nad was cautious these past few months, but he couldn't just not check what was it. What if it was something valuable? He can sell it and get some money, and so he wouldn't have to steal things! So yeah, he crept closer to the box and stood up on his tip toes and peeked in.
Inside was a turtle. Yokai turtle like he himself was, but smaller. They were curled up in a ball on their side inside of the box, as it was pretty cold outside, and they had nothing on them. Even nad had pants and a cloak, but this turtle didn't even had some rags. Nad spoke up in a way that other Yokais mostly used — speaking English, and not Turtle. His voice was hesistant, quiet, but gentle, careful not to spook the turtle in the box too much.
— Hey. Why are you in the box? And without anything too.
As expected, the turtle in the box almost jumped when heard Nad's voice, but when they looked up and saw who was looking at them, they only blinked, confused. Nad furrowed one of his non-existent brows, looking down at the confused turtle that was still laying on their side, but now gaping at him like a fish out of water. Maybe they don't understand him? So he switched to Turtle.
— Chirp. Chirp chirp churr?
The response was almost immediate from the turtle in the box, as they sat up, wrapping their arms around their knees and press them into their plastron.
— Chirp chirp peep chirp.
They were trying to find a place to hide and rest at, but it was cold outside and they didn't knew how to really warm up. Nad asked how are they like him, as in why are they a Yokai, because Nad didn't see any turtle Yokai adults around the Hidden City. And he wandered pretty good distance around the place, if he's being honest. He also asked if they are like this because of the "big boom" 3 years ago. They said that they're been like this for a while before the big boom happened. So it was not the case then. How did they live all this time if they don't know where to find anything, and don't speak nor understand English? These questions he had no answers for, so Nad did the only logical to his young brain thing. He asked if they wanted to come with him, so he can teach them things. They agreed and Nad helped them out of the box, picking them up and start to walk away. He was strong and they were small and light as a feather, plus they were cold, so he wrapped his cloak tighter around them both, walking down the alleyway to find food once again.
— Vincent sounds like a pretty name.
Nad thought aloud, as Vincent settled against his plastron under the cloak, legs lightly wrapped around the waist of the bigger turtle that now carried their new companion away from the box near the dumpster.
It all must've started with Huggin being not a very careful guy whatsoever. Baron Draxum's minion hurried through the bustling streets of the Hidden City, carrying a paper bag tightly but nervously in his grasp, maneuvering between Yokais, or at least trying to. Sure enough, some lizard Yokai stepped into Huggin's way out of nowhere, making the small gargoyle to bump straight into the stranger's side, and send one of the vials flying onto the ground, which was then kicked by someone passing by, as the vial go out of Huggin's line of sight.
— Sorry! Didn't see you coming, sir. Oh, my.. I can swear I saw something fall. Nevermind, it's better not to leave Boss hanging.
Huggin scurried away towards Baron Draxum's laboratory, while in the meantime, the vial jumped on the ground from place to place, kicked or sweeped by feet of people passing by like a bouncing ball. Eventually, it got kicked hard enough to be sent flying pretty far into an alleyway behind the stands at the market, and it fell onto a sharp-ended pebble, the glass shattering and the yellowish-green substance sent flying in all directions, including onto an abandoned little turtle that was there. The goo covered the turtle from the top of the shell to the little fingers of the turtle, causing it to mutate, gaining more humanoid traits. This process was anything but pleasant because it wasn't made in a stable environment and the substance was raw with its alchemical power. But eventually, after felt like an eternity for the turtle, it was able to move away from the puddle and the shattered glass, towards the entrance of the alleyway, now crawling on all four. It stopped when the sounds finally caught up to it, as well as the sight of many silhouettes of various sizes, forms and kinds of Yokais moving back and forth. Some of them might've not been so big for an average person, but for a freshly mutated turtle in size of a sandwich, they were huge. Of course they got scared and hurried to hide under something— anything — and that just so happened to be an old barrel nearby, with a conveniently baby turtle sized hole all the way down, so the poor little thing crawled inside, hiding there and inside of their shell.
That is how Nad got to become a Yokai (actually a mutant).

This is young version of my pookie (my puppet who is my fav, so ofc he gets to suffer), his name is Nad, he's the oldest of 5 random turtle mutants (not the Hamatos) he picked up from the streets overtime (like Pokemon).
Also, I couldn't help myself but draw approximately their height difference bc your Raph and Nad are kinda similar at this point of their lives, ngl
