The reason that wizards greet the Lone One is that a) it’s only polite, and b) it so much easier to see entropy once you have named it, and so much easier to defeat when you can see it.
The single most important skill for any wizard is the ability to understand a system, to see what makes it grow and thrive, to find out what is breaking it down or holding it back. Without this ability a wizard may invite entropy in inadvertently.
There is a special spell for noise cancellation that is often employed by Autisitc wizards. It sets up a boundary of vibrating air around the caster, and the air’s vibrations cancel out incoming sound waves. It can be adjusted to let in what ever sound level the wizard is comfortable with, and is a great boon in loud environments.

One skill that many wizards strive to learn is when to draw the line. Sometimes, the best way to defy entropy is to stop and say “no, I can’t do that today” or “I won’t be ready then, how about later”. Drawing up clear boundaries and knowing your limits is the best way to promote a happy and healthy system.
Like many subcultures, wizards on Earth tend to group up almost unconsciously. It’s not unusual for a wizard’s circle of friends to be comprised mainly of wizards, or to find out that old friends are similar masters of the Art.
Sometimes, wizards must focus on reducing entropy within their own lives. A little clean up here and there, some time set aside for fixing up, or even time to improve the little things can make a world of difference in their Art.
When considering ways to improve on a system, wizards must keep in mind a few important questions: does the system need improvement? Who benefits most from the change in the system? And who, exactly, will these changes hurt, and how much?
One of the hardest Ordeals that a prospective wizard may face is to bring light and Life to a place totally controlled by the Lone One. These are often long term Ordeals and assignments, but they can be the most rewarding, as the wizard sees Life blooming once again.
These days, there are apps for a plethora of things that wizards may need to accomplish. There is an app that tracks local portals and spacetime distortions, an app for calculating how much environment you might need to take when traveling, and even an app to text with your intergalactic friends! (Emojis are NOT guaranteed to translate properly between planets)
There is a wizard who specializes in songs, who collects them from every species they meet. On clear nights, you can often find them staring up into the sky, straining to hear the star-song.
Doctors who have knowledge of the Art often use it in their practice. They can listen to the body as a system, see exactly what is wrong and fix it. They can also see the unique way that the person lives and grows, and NOT change it.
Many wizards have trouble saying no. Not, of course, to things that are wrong - wizards can reject the Lone One’s influence with barely a thought. It’s the small things that get them; most wizards find it very difficult to say no to someone in need, even when they are already overcommitted.
Wizards with sensory processing issues are often delighted when they learn the Speech. Unlike most languages, the Speech never blurs itself in their ears, never lags in their comprehension. It’s like finally getting a TV with a clear picture after years of watching through the static.
There is a neat spell that breaks down complex molecules into simpler ones. Some wizards apply this spell to their trash cans, and are then very careful what they throw inside. Although their trash may fill up quicker (small molecules take up more space than large ones), wizards with this spell know that everything they take out of the trash easier to use than what they put in
There is a wizard who specializes in helping the wheels of beuracracy turn more smoothly. She optimizes forms so that they are easy to fill out, and makes sure that information is readily available to all those who need it. In her own way, she reduces entropy in hundreds of lives every day.
The happiness of wizards will often leak into their surroundings. A happy wizard may cause flowers to bloom early, the air to flow freer, or electronics to work more efficiently. Those who know what to look for can often tell when their local wizards have gotten really great news.
With more and more Manual’s taking the shape of phones, wizards have started to rely on a variety of unique functions. Many wizards Manuals can start recording with a single word, and can capture a much better image and sound quality than standard phones. With the right spell prep, videos taken on a wizard’s Manual can even be turned into a 3D reconstruction of events!
