I want to get into tokusatsu. What would be a good series to start with?

It’s a generic answer, but ultimately it depends on what you’re looking for in a series. Each tokusatsu does things differently, in tone and theme to storytelling, and not a single one of them perfect. What are you interested in seeing?

Yuri Cyberpunk Visual Novel "Synergia" on Kickstarter Now

On July 8 Top Hat Studios launched the Kickstarter for the yuri visual novel Synergia. The yuri thriller is developed by Radi Art. At the time of writting the crowdfunding efforts have exceeded the $4,000 crowdfunding goals, which will allow the game to be finished released by December 2019.

Synergia follows the story of Cila, a sour and resentful veteran cop who begins to bond with her remarkable and advanced housedriod M.A.R.A. However, her unique relationship with the android may be threatened by the mysterious Velta Labs.

The game boasts nearly 100 combined unique backgrounds and CGs by Francisco Perez Molina, the games creator, director, writer, and illustrator. It will feature a six to nine hours long story affected by player choice with multiple endings. According to the project’s Kickstarter there are over 20 characters all with detailed backgrounds women woven into the narrative. The soundtrack for Synergia is by Andy Andi Han (AoiiChiNiiSan).

At the time of writting the stretch goal for a PlayStation 4 port has been met but future contributions will go towards further goals including a Nintendo Switch port, an extended soundtrack, Chinese localization, free DLC, partial voice acting, and animated backgrounds.

A free demo for the game is available now on Steam and Itch.Io

You can back Synergia on Kickstarter until August 7, and look forward to its planned release later this year.

Stuff kids on tumblr better relearn

1. You are responsible for your own media experience. 

2. There is such a thing as a healthy level of avoidance towards topics that make you feel unwell or even (in a real-life clinical definition of the term) trigger you - but you are the one to actively take care of what you view.

3. Avoiding does not mean policing others.

4. You have no right to tell artists to censor themselves - you may criticize what others do, you may dislike it, that’s fine - but actively asking for censorship when you could easily unfollow or block a person just makes you look incompetent in your use of the internet.

5. Do not give people on tumblr or /any/ website the responsibility for your emotional well-being. Because these people do not even know you so no, you have no right to ask them to take care of you.

To every reader of any comic or story I ever make. And honestly, for every consumer of media in a fandom space. I closed my ask box years ago because of folks breaking these common-sense approaches.

And this isn’t just for “kids”–no. This applies to people in their 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s who are seeking power *somewhere* in their lives and decide to grab for it through the detached anonymity of Internet fandom communities.
