Hey. Why isn’t the moon landing a national holiday in the US. Isn’t that fucked up? Does anyone else think that’s absurd?
It was a huge milestone of scientific and technological advancement. (Plus, at the time, politically significant). Humanity went to space! We set foot on a celestial body that was not earth for the first time in human history! That’s a big deal! I’ve never thought about it before but now that I have, it’s ridiculous to me that that’s not part of our everyday lives and the public consciousness anymore. Why don’t we have a public holiday and a family barbecue about it. Why have I never seen the original broadcast of the moon landing? It should be all over the news every year!
It’s July 20th. That’s the day of the moon landing. Next year is going to be the 54th anniversary. I’m ordering astronaut shaped cookie cutters on Etsy and I’m going to have a goddamn potluck. You’re all invited.
Hey. Hey. Tumblr. Ides of March ppl. We can do this
Hell yeah moon holiday
Ooh coming up we should celebrate
PITCH: We call it Moon Day, and then every 7 years when it falls on a Monday, that's an even BIGGER deal and we call that Moon Day Monday and go absolutely apeshit about it (the next Moon Day Monday is in 2026 so we have a couple trial runs first)
HAPPY MOON DAY MONDAY

somebody commented on the bow post that jax would have bows from all her friends and I agree :]
(except gangle...i think that relationship will have to be repaired through heavy boundaries....)
it bothers me that you often don't really hear about people having a "favorite album" the way they might have a favorite movie or favorite video game
fuck it. reblog this and tell me in the tags what your favorite album is

Charlie redesign!~
She's more demon-y and more animalistic, as is the plan for all of the earth born sinners, including Charlie's mother. I honestly love the personality she had in the pilot so there's not really much of a change there. Other things of note, still around 200 years old, still dating Vaggie, still very passionate about running the hotel despite, or maybe because of, her mommy AND daddy issues

Q: This is kinda wierd and specific, but when reading witchy, i noticed that they use Garuda as sort of a "Oh my god!" substitution, and I was wondering if that was based off the indonesian garuda? and also i was wondering what culture this part was based off? Context im indonesian and im just really happy to see representation, I know that witchy is generally based off asian and oceania culture but is there any specific instances of anything specific being absed of indonesia? thank you!
Not weird at all 😌
I am half Indo myself, so Indonesian mythology is where I first learned about Garuda, yes! Though important to note it is a mythological figure that exists throughout South and South East Asia more generally. I am definitely partial to the Javanese/Balinese depictions where he is kind of a teethy freak though:
The most obvious example for Indo influence I can think of off the top of my head is the orphanage in chapter 4:
The split gates on the hill are influenced by candi bentar (below, left) and the entrance to the compound proper is inspired by paduraksa (below, right.)
The orphanage actually exists in a former temple to Garuda, who existed in the universe, albeit in a different context.
It's been a while, but I'm fairly certain I based the style above on Rajput and Ottoman court paintings, (with mixed success, imo) though I think the first figure there is wearing Thai-inspired garb.
Hope that answers your question!
that’s not even all of them.
