Winnie ran her finger lightly down the baby’s tiny little nose, “Next time I see him I’m going to slap him,” she said in response to Minsky’s explanation. “I grew up tending to my siblings and ours neighbours kids, so I’ve had plenty of experience,” she looked up at her former mentor, “For you, for this,” she gestured to the bundle, “I’ll wave the fees. Are you going to name him?”
“If you find him before 2120, I’ll be shocked,” he replied darkly. He smiled at her offer and shook his head. “I insist on paying you, Winnie. But why don’t we do a few test nights with him and see how it goes.” He looked down at the baby. “Looks like a Leo to me.”

“Are you in shock?“ Garrett questioned before sitting next to him for a better look.
“You don’t mean that,“ He was surprised and looked away from the baby to Minsky. “This seems like a second chance if I ever seen one.“
“I’m not sure. Am I ready to be a dad again?”
“It’d be unfair of me to do it on my own. What if something happened to me?”

“Leo is a nice name. You should keep him,” She sighed feeling that she was going to regret this decision “I’ll help. It’s going to hurt but… I’ll try.” Kudzai leaned over to kiss the baby’s forehead then whispered in her native tongue a common blessing said over newborns. “He should feel better. He was a little congested.”

Minsky sat back as she kissed the baby on forehead, somewhat in shock. Quietly he said, “Leo is a nice name.” As she was pulling away, Minsky lifted a hand up to cradle her face. “Are you sure?”

She shot him a look, “True.” Rhiannon got closer to look at the infant. “Is there anything I can get for you? Did Lee leave anything with him?”
“You really do give Lee a lot of credit. No, he didn’t, but Cat’s gone out to get some things for him.” Minsky paused before passing him over. “Any chance you can see if everything is alright with him?”

“She raised his first two children,” She took a sip of water “She’s nicer about his shit that I am.” Kudzai sits on the sofa but keeps her eyes focused on her hands “So what is his name? Are you going to keep him?”
“Well then she must have decided not to raise him.” Minsky shrugged, letting out a sigh. “I-I’m not sure. On either part. What are your thoughts?”

“What? He just left it with you?” the shock was clear in her voice. Winnie walked over and peered inside the bundle of blankets, “How could anyone just leave something so small and venerable?”
“Yes, he did.” Minsky tilted the baby towards her so she’d have an easier time seeing him. “You know telekinetics, plus he’s never been the most responsible.” He cleared his throat and looked down at the baby. “I’m not sure what’ll be happening with him, but I think your services may be helpful and I was wondering about rates, and if you had experience with children and nightmares.”

“Well the baby wouldn’t have lasted long with Kudzai.”

“Cristae must’ve been traveling or the child’s mother is dead.” Kudzai briefly looked at the baby, grimaced, before helping her self to a bottled water from the kitchen “No note or anything? Not even a diaper bag?” She questioned
“I doubt your daughter would have taken him either.” He frowned at her look and rocker the baby. “No, I’ve got Cat grabbing some things for the baby. I’ve called Krebs, he’s gone looking for him.”

“Shit…“ Garrett mumbled, making funny faces at the baby trying to get a reaction out of it. “Girl or boy?“
“I’m sure Jia and I or Judson can take ‘em off your hands.“
Minsky looked down at the baby in his arms as he cooed, realizing he’d barely moved since he’d been handed him. “Boy.”
A flash of sadness hit him and he found himself unconsciously pulling him closer. “That would probably be for the best.”

“Lee had a baby... That’s all I heard before he teleported out.”

“With life. I had all these things I continually pushed for, thinking my time was going to be up the next day. But now I have none of that drive. I don’t remember the last time I worked on my book. Even my mentees aren’t inspiring anything.”

“I don’t know,” She hummed “I like holding on to you way more than your coat. If I don’t find a sweater in one of these shops then I’ll take you up on your offer.” She explained while happily enjoying his body heat and the familiar scent of his cologne.
Minsky smiled and pulled her in closer. “Now who’s the smooth talker?” Minsky could hear the buzz of the countless number of mind around them. As they walked, he told the guitar player on the side of the road to play their song telepathically. As he passed by he threw a couple of Euros towards him.

Minsky smiled sadly at that. “One of two. I suppose that would be enough for the book, but it wasn’t ever something I felt compelled to do. My mark was never especially strong anyways.”
“I do have step kids though. And I still love them regardless of them not being related directly to me. Eric will love you regardless, too.”

“How’ve you been man? I heard about that warlock you were tracking from the police report a couple months ago. Ever find her again?”
