November Schedule

Here it is folks! All the November classes, workshops and other events you have been waiting for. We are still experiencing some technical difficulties with our email service, so the schedule has not been sent to your emails, but we are posting it here first for you all to see! Be sure to check out some of our cool new events such as our "How To Make A Parkour Video" Workshop, our fun Film Day, our Brave the Elements Condition Session and finally, at the end of the month, our Black Friday Jam and the Santaland Parade!

Halloween Parkour Jam 2013

MONDAY, OCTOBER 28, 7:30-9:30pm

@ Livonia Ultimate Gymnasticz, 13300 Levan Rd., Livonia, MI

Featuring Phoenix Freerunning

Join us as we celebrate the spirit of Halloween...Phoenix style! Instead of our regular Monday night open gym time, we will be hosting a Halloween Jam. The Jam will consist of a Costume Contest, multiple rounds of Zombie Tag and (New!) Werewolf Tag, and of course, Parkour training! Fun size candy bars will be awarded to the winner of each round of tag. The winner of the Costume Contest will win their money back!

Cost: $20 per participant ($30 if you are not in costume! No excuses!)

Kids Parkour Workshop

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 27, 3:00-5:00pm

Featuring Eric "Silver Surfer" Zimmerman

Join us for our second Kids Parkour Workshop of the Fall! This is the best way for your child to begin learning parkour. We will cover all the basics, from rolls and vaults to precisions and wall-runs. Ages 7-17. Workshop is $40.

Are you having trouble keeping up with the cost our events each week? Well then why not save a few bucks and pay ahead of time with our renewed Monthly Membership Program! Here are your three package options: Bronze Package: $50 - All Monday Night Open Gym Sessions (7:30-930) OR All Drop-in Classes (7:30-8:30) (Choose ONE) Silver Package: $80 - All Monday Night Drop-In Classes (7:30-8:30) AND Open Gyms (8:30-9:30) Gold Package: $160 - All Phoenix Freerunning events no matter the day or time To register for one of these membership packages, you must have your payment in to Phoenix Freerunning by the end of November 4, 2013. Join us for a session of instructional parkour and freerunning at the Livonia Ultimate Gymnasticz facility. We will be covering everything from the basics to advanced techniques in our Drop-In Class from 7:30-8:30pm. Then stick around for a couple hours of open gym time from 7:30-9:30pm. We will have instructors available to help with everything from the basics to advanced techniques. Come out and learn some new moves! Push yourself past your limits and have safe fun while doing it! Ages 7-45. Cost: $20 for 1-hour class (NO OPEN GYM) $30 for 1-hour class PLUS 1-hour open gym $20 for 2-hour open gym (NO CLASS) This week's photo winner is Conner who put some serious work on his kong-fronts last week!

American Ninja Warrior Workshop

Do you enjoy watching American Ninja Warrior as much as we do? Ever wanted to train for the show? Then come out to Taylor where Scott & Tyler Lazenby, two of our parkour community members, have reconstructed Freedom Freerunning Academy's old Warped Wall as well as built their very own Salmon Ladder! They even have Quad Steps made from old tires and a Spider-Climb at the school behind their house! Workshop is $30.

Flip Workshop

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 13

We will be holding a Flip workshop for two hours every month at Livonia Ultimate Gymnasticz. These workshops will help students build confidence and are geared more towards intermediate and advanced Freerunning. You must have a proficient level of Parkour to attend this workshop; this is not meant for beginners. Phoenix Freerunning reserves the right to admit or deny students based on skill level.

COST: $40 per student for all participants

Garden City Chili Cook-Off

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 12

At the Farmers Market Lot in the Town Center Shopping Center Plaza at Ford Rd and Middlebelt in Garden City.

Featuring Phoenix Freerunning

Come hang out with us as we perform and promote Phoenix Freerunning at the 6th Annual Garden City Chili Cook-Off: "A community driven chili cook off where crocks of chili are created on site, tasted, and judged. Samples are available for purchase. Prize money awarded to Best in Show, 2nd Place, and People’s Choice. All proceeds benefit community charities. Fall festivities of hay rides and petting zoo accompay the day-long event along with a Hot Rods Car and Motorcycle Show displaying some of the best muscle on the streets." Pro-Team Anniversary Workshop

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 6

Heritage Park, Canton (Follow Veteran's Drive around to Large Wooden Play Structure)

Join us as we celebrate the One Year Anniversary of our original Pro-Team Try-outs. To celebrate our year of accomplishments, we will be offering three different one-hour workshops, each taught by one of our original Pro-Team Members!

Workshop #1: FLOW featuring Jesse "Jazz" Harrison Workshop #2: HANDSTANDS featuring Jeremiah "Jay All Day" Bishop Workshop #3: ADVANCED PARKOUR featuring Eric "Silver Surfer" Zimmerman

First chance at a workshop will be from 1:00-2:00pm. Then you may choose to take a second workshop from 2:00-3:00pm.

Cost: $20 for one workshop; $30 for two workshops

Midwest National Parkour Jam - Cincinnati, OH

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 5

Sawyer Point Park, Cincinnati, OH

Featuring Matt Peveley & Phoenix Freerunning

Join us as we venture out to Cincinnati's first National/Regional Jam. To carpool to this event on Saturday, October 5, we will meet at the Livonia YMCA (14255 Stark Rd Livonia) at 5:45am and leave by 6:00am. We plan on returning home at 8:00pm to make it back by midnight.
