LET ME TELL YOU A THING IM THE BEST AT FRIED RICE! IM THE MOTHERFUCKING KING OF FRIED RICE!
Pineapple-nectarine smoothie
For 2:
1 ripe pineapple (the one I used weighed 1,3kg whole) 2 nectarines ice
Blend together for a sinfully tasty smoothie.
Egg Free Apple Pie
Note: I'm not sure if this meets the English-speaking world's - and particularly America's - definition of apple pie, but it does for a Finn like myself. Looks a little colourless but tastes great.
2 Green apples 50g butter or margarine 1 dl(1/2 cup) Sugar 2 1/2 dl (~1-1 1/2 cups) flour 1 tsp vanilla sugar 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon 1 tsp baking powder 1 dl (1/2 cup) water
Cut the apples into slices and lay the slices along the bottom of a deep baking tray or a pie pan. Sprinkle some sugar and cinnamon on top of the apples if you like.
Melt the butter or margarine and mix in the other ingredients until smooth. Spread the batter over apples and sprinkle some cinnamon on top.
Set the oven to 200C (400F) and bake for 35-45 minutes.
Banana-Raspberry Smoothie (Non-dairy)
This is a really nice, light smoothie.
2 servings
1 banana 1 dl (1/2 cup) of raspberry juice concentrate 1 1/5 dl (≈ 1 cup) frozen raspberries 2 tbsp lemon juice ice 2 dl (1 cup) water (optional) a handful of red grapes
Put everything in a blender and blend until smooth. I find that if you're going to have grapes in the smoothie, it's good to start by blending them before you add the liquids. For the banana and the raspberries it doesn't seem to make much of a difference, but if there's already a lot of liquid, my blender tends to bounce the grapes around rather than blend them efficiently.
Refreshing Oolong-Ginger Drink
Today I conducted an experiment and mixed two things I like: ginger beer and oolong tea.
The ginger beer I used was from a home-made batch. Here's the recipe:
-5 dl (2 1/2 cups) of water
-1 dl (1/2 cup) fresh ginger, chopped.
-1 tbsp ginger paste
-1 2/3 dl (roughly 1 cup) sweetener (sugar is fine, I used a lighter artificial sweetener)
- a bit of lemon juice
Boiled for something like 40 minutes, then strained the bits of ginger out and cooled the liquid. Mixed with carbonated water.
Be warned that the combination of ginger beer and oolong tea has a rather unusual taste. However, I personally found it very refreshing in the warm summer weather.
