Artwork 8/52: Spring Bouquet

💭 There’s something about the weather today that reminded me of my childhood. During the Easter holidays, my family and I would usually drive south to Tagaytay and spend a couple of blissful days in there. Weather in Manila can be unbearable at times, but in Tagaytay, temperature could go down to a cool 21C during this time of the year; providing a cool refuge and haven for all visitors like me. Before the influx of tourists and the rapid urbanization, there weren’t many places to visit, and so I would often spend the lazy afternoons picking flowers from my neighbours’ gardens. Armed with a straw basket and a pair of gardening scissors, I could spend hours roaming the village compounds looking for fresh flowers.
