That’s a great question! I actually love getting asked things like this.
Just a heads-up, though—my advice might be a little different from what you usually hear.
First, my personal drawing tip is to finish what you started exactly how you intended, giving it your absolute best until the very end. In the beginning, it can be tough, and you might get lazy and want to skip a few details. But instead of churning out tons of quick drawings like that, spending a lot of time to fully execute the exact vision you had in mind is a much better way to level up your skills.
Here’s an example. The ones above are drawings from about two years ago, right when I first started out here on Tumblr.
2years ago: 30h~ (This was back when I hadn't even finished five proper drawings)
With my current skills, it would take me anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours max to draw those. But back then? I spent over 30 hours glued to just one of those pieces. To sum up my drawing tip: if you sketched out what you wanted to draw, don't skip anything and draw the whole thing. If you feel like you can't do it, don't give up or leave it out; instead, look at how other artists did it and try drawing it multiple times until it clicks. (Of course, I don't mean tracing—just use them as a visual reference)
As for animating tips, my advice is to watch other people's animations. Yeah, it might sound a bit silly, but find an animation that you think is masterfully done and study it repeatedly. Watch it at 0.25x speed and analyze it frame by frame—how did they make this part move? How did they draw the fast, dynamic scenes? Look at every single detail.
But obviously, you shouldn't just watch. Try drawing the animation techniques you observed, even if it's just a simple sketch. Use the animating features in FlipaClip or Ibis Paint to apply what you learned. If you're new to animating or still struggling, it doesn't need to be high quality. You can focus on making it look high quality after you get the hang of animating.
To be honest, I've never formally learned drawing or animating. I just learned the hard way by diving right in and refusing to give up. But if you keep gaining diverse experiences and continuously try to express the thoughts or ideas in your head exactly as you imagined them, your skills will naturally improve. The time it takes will vary from person to person, though.
