Posting fic chapters is so hard. There's so much self-doubt and anxiety, about what if my narration is hard to follow? What if my grammar is poor? What if my understanding of the characters is shallow?
When that happens I just need to remind myself about all the fics that mattered to me. They don't need to be perfect to matter to even a single person, eventually, they really just got to exist.
Hey, would anyone like to ramble to me about the characters of the khux union leaders? I want to write fanfic but because I'm new to the fandom and khux specifically, my understanding of the characters is still a bit "squishy" because they haven't had a lot of time to settle in. Especially Brain, Ephemer, Lauriam and khux-era Ven. (I already got v good information about Skuld)
I'm specifically looking to solidify my understanding of their personality and wills. Little moments that may not immediately be focused upon on first watch are great too! For example Lauriam going @ Ven "You're not weak, you're kind" or Skuld's want to follow the rules vs her sense of justice.

But what if Vanitas could see proof of that?
Or, Ventus does something reckless and awakens Vanitas while they're still slumbering in Sora's heart.

Putting Vanitas through the torment nexus is absolutely crucial to his character development
the hardest part of writing vanitas fanfic is figuring out when to uppercase vs lowercase the d in darkness

i might post the first chapter of my first kh fanfic (and my first multi chapter, and public, fanfic ever) later tonight if i dont chicken out but i am so anxious because i dont even have a beta reader for it or anything
the anxiety of what if because of my new understanding to the whole series this is way too ambitious and everyone is so incredibly out of character but also i really love this idea

riku is the healthiest of the destiny trio bc he Loses It so spectacularly he is kinda forced to confront that and work hard to get ‘it’ back. sora loses it a little at a time so he doesn’t quite realize how much of ‘it’ he has lost, and whenever he does realize he’s Lost It, he thinks he has eventually gotten it back every time (he never has). kairi is convinced she has always had It and has never been insane or unhappy before no sirree no darkness here in this princess’ heart that’s just uhhhhhh that burning hole? you know how light is really hot?
