BIOGRAPHY
(Toxic relationship tw)
miray selin aslan was not built to be small, quiet, or easily understood. born and raised in istanbul, she grew up surrounded by crowded streets, loud voices, and a family that were overwhelming at times. from an early age, she learned how to read people quickly and how to stand on her own even faster. she knew what she needed to do to not only survive but to thrive.
at twenty, miray left turkey for the united states with her cousin, both of them chasing different versions of freedom. they arrived together, but their paths split almost immediately. miray went to new york, drawn by the idea of bright lights and bustling streets, while her cousin settled in california. distance didn’t break the connection, they were still as close as ever but their relationship turned from sleepovers to facetimes.
in new york, miray began carving out the life she had been dreaming of. she was ambitious, ruthless and was quickly able to carve her way in the city. nightlife became her world; fast, unpredictable, and perfectly suited to someone who thrived in chaos. it was perfect for her in every way the city that never slept suited the woman that never sat still.
in her late twenties however, her perfect little life began to crumble. for the first time in her life miray found herself in a relationship, the man being just as chaotic domineering and confident as her. it was intense from the offset but what started as passionate quickly became reckless, scary. she found herself dragged into a world she had never wanted, becoming a shell of herself more and more every day. when her new life began effecting her daughter she knew it was time to leave, to run.
she didn’t leave quietly. she didn’t leave cleanly. she left fast. with nowhere else she trusted, miray turned to the one person who knew her better than she knew herself; her cousin. two years ago miray relocated to san verano, california. she turned her back on the life she once knew and the ghosts of her past and worked on building something new, this time never letting anybody close enough to ruin her again.
within months, she became the owner of nova nightclub, a place that reflected her perfectly: dark, magnetic, filled with energy. it gave her control again. she had been building up not only her life again but also herself, her identity, her sense of self. even after two years her new life is still so fragile all it would take is a small push to bring it crumbling down.
Wanted Connections:
I want to be your obsession - Miray likes attention this person gives it to her so she keeps them around.
Fuck it guess we both ain’t shit - pure toxicity. Lying, cheating, just being generally toxic to each other but they still go back for more.
Why are you my clarity - Miray promised herself to never again get attached to somebody but she’s found herself falling for this person. She may not realise it yet but the feelings are there and they’re strong (can be one sided or two)
My advice is always ruin the friendship- they’re friends, just friends. But there’s this tension in the air between them that’s impossible to ignore, so fragile it could one day snap.
Bad girls do it well - her ride or die, bad bitch duo, besties, attached at the hip. You get it, they’re besties.
Party girls don’t get hurt - drinking/party friends. They only really hang out when alcohol is involved but when they do get together they have a great, and often chaotic, time.
I can see you - this person notices the small things—when she’s lying, when she’s deflecting, when she’s about to walk away before things get real. they don’t push hard, but they don’t let things slide either.
I know how to drive you insane- This is darker than simple toxicity, this is a bomb ready to explode. this isn’t just messy. they understand each other too well, push too far, hit where it hurts. there’s chemistry, but also the sense that if they don’t stop, something will actually break.
