"Where we goin' next, Lan?" Surge sprinted ahead to catch up with her boss. Before Lanolin could answer her, she felt Surge grip her forearm gently.

Months ago, this level of physical touch would have startled them both. But now, it was welcomed.

"Well, that depends. We aren't needed back in the office until later this evening. How does a trip to Central City sound?" Lanolin hummed, feeling her cheeks warm at their close proximity.

This would be something to get used to.

"Oh? Finally askin' me out?" Surge grinned, but there was no denying the hopeful glee in her tone.

Lanolin's ears twitched. "Don't gloat. We still have a schedule to stick to." Her blue eyes wandered until they fell on Surge. "But yeah. I am. So, so... If you see anything you like, let me know."

Her gloved hand came to brush along Surge's side.

"Well, shit. All right. Lead the way, fuzzy."
