OOC - Hiatus

Ngl I’m not in a great place right now, I broke up with my boyfriend yesterday and I live(d) with him so I have to move back home which isn’t that bad because I get to starfish in my own bed and have my food made for me, but I’m just so gutted about it 

and also I have exams (which should be my main focus not some guy #priorities) and it’d be nice to kinda focus on them, play Because of You on repeat and eat a tonne of ben and jerry's (almost wrote have a tonne of BJ’s but realized what that meant and put down a mental note to never ever abbreviate Ben and Jerrys again) and kinda just have like a little closed off time 

but yeah - i’ll be back, miss you all xxx

Headcannon

Despite Miriams less than stellar morals, she is extremely mothering - this is emphasized by the natural empathetic nature of Dearg Dues. When she was alive, married to Theo, she was hoping to fall pregnant desperate to have a baby. There is even a painted nursery in Roncier Manor - this is one of the few rooms she cannot bare to go in. In her afterlife, this desire continues much to her dismay - even though she knows that her wish can never be fulfilled. This manifests in relationships towards other people, especially people that are weaker (she feeds off misery so it’s a good deal to be honest), younger or naive - someone she feels she can nurture or influence.

This Girl Slays; Reza+Miriam

Stumbling slightly under Miriam’s push, Reza still followed her obediently, curious as to where they were going. Maybe they were going dancing again. The door was politely opened for him and Reza slumped inside, looking around the car with way too much interest for the inside of a run down car. Because everything was interesting now; or at least it felt that way.

“Hunting?” he parroted back, eyebrows furrowing as the car rumbled to life. They weren’t… she wasn’t taking him feeding, was she? He didn’t exactly want to hang by while Miriam fed on some other human. No matter how good of a mood he was in. “I… not really.”

Momentarily distracted as lights began to flash by the window, Reza turned his attention back to Miriam. “Just been… you know, hanging out. With Heath. Got something for the kittens to sleep in, too. As well as bowls with their names. So what exactly are we hunting, you didn’t say?” Reza rambled, only partly because some nerves were managing to squeeze their way through his high. Not that he didn’t trust Miriam. He just… not-trusted her a little. It was just a tiny bit, though. 

Getting out was good, though. Or getting out so somewhere that wasn’t a stuffed club or party. As much as he liked hanging out at home, with a purring kitten on his chest… His face tickled with the ghost of whiskers passing over his nose, a small, dopey smile on his face. Nerves forgotten just as quickly as they’d appeared. “You’re not just taking me along to feed on someone else, right? Cause I’m not for that. Wait. You don’t like blood. So what are we hunting?”

She couldn’t help but smile as Reza talked about his day. Such a sweet kid, much to nice for Heath - but she’d bite her tongue. After all, Heath had done was throw a couple of cheap insults. And he gave out free drugs - so he really wasn’t that bad. He was high. For sure. If his doe eyed expression, and the smell of it wasn’t confirmation enough. Waves of calmness came off him, which Miriam was grateful for - she was excited, but that could sometimes mean mistakes. And she couldn’t make mistakes.

Miriam rolled her eyes - no wonder most of the town hated vampires when they were doing public feedings. It was barbaric. They were civilised creatures, so should act like it. Blood didn’t even taste too good, Miriam fed out of necessity. It smelt, was warm - clung to the sides of her throat, it was hard to believe people actually enjoyed it. 

“Slayers.” She replied briskly, turning sharply down a corner - going further from town, she made sure to find a slayer in a remote spot. Her teeth were clenched tightly together,  “That’s where you come into it.” Miriam started, “I can’t touch the blood of a slayer - well, I could-” She pulled down the neck of her sweater enough to reveal the bloodied scar, healed on the outside - but the bone was taking a little while longer to mend. “-but they’ve already done me enough damage.” Her hand clasped back on the steering wheel as she swerved a little, flashing Reza an apologetic look. 

Quickly, she pull the satnav off the counter top, flicking her cars headlights off - the least amount of attention she brought to the car the better. The house was a little way down the street, but she pulled into the sidewalk - Reza needed to know the plan, he couldn’t fuck this up for her. “You’ve done stuff like this before, right?”

Afraid we’re still working on his manners. But he’s growing fine. 

I bet. Suppose my pack’s a touch spoiled, they have it pretty easy in the off season. But I get them out running, at least, there’s plenty of forest around for that. And they’ve taken a liking to the beaches. 

I’m in it for the meat, myself. Tend to give the rest to anybody who wants it, folks at work, that kind of thing. You got a liking for deer leather, elk, moose? I could put the skins aside, if you’d find a use for them.

Ignore everyone else - I find people like to weigh in on about being humane to the animals but can’t actually suggest a good way of getting rid of them. I mean if you wanted to shoot the buggers, I have a couple guns you could borrow.

It is - you got me there, fucking owen usually I just used those little picture things to help like the sly winky face. Although that usually comes off the wrong way and people think I’m hitting on them... So I’ve stopped doing that now.
