M1L and M1R

These increases are the opposite of the increases in standard/righthanded patterns. When a pattern calls for a M1R, do a M1L and vise-versa

Knit side

M1L (Video)

Enter crossbar from back to front, knit through front loop like a regular knit stitch

M1R (Video)

Enter crossbar from front to back, knit through back loop

Purl side

A M1L purlside leans left when you're looking at the right side of the work

Enter crossbar from back to front, purl through front loop like a regular purl stitch

Enter crossbar from front to back, purl through back loop, pulling it through front loop
