“please, i don’t even come close in comparison to you.” the blonde smiled as she looked towards the other. abby couldn’t get over the fact that she got to attend such an event with the brunette with everything that had happened in just the past few months. “maybe we both are.” she winked lightly. “i’m open to whatever you would prefer.”

“now that is the biggest lie i’ve heard today.” she said in response to her words. this was their first official formal event together since she’d come out to her family and harper couldn’t be any happier that to be able to show everyone how much she loved this woman. not that they’d had to hide prior to going back to her hometown yet this still felt special to the brunette. at her wink she could feel her cheeks turn pink. “in that case i say lets just dance the night away. i don’t have to have a drink to enjoy myself around you.”

jacen admittedly wasn’t the fondest of events like these, but being able to attend it with genevieve was more than enough for him to be happy. it’d been a few weeks since he’d started spending time with the female aside from the times that she would be camped out at one of the tables in the cafe he worked at. “thank you.” he smiled softly. “you look pretty too.” he added awkwardly, not that he didn’t think she was always pretty.

“you’re welcome and thank you as well.” she responded after his awkward remark. she quite frankly found that to be a cute trait of his, one of many that she was slowly falling for. “what would you like to do first tonight ? our options seem to be a lot and i’d be happy doing any.” she told him with a smile across her features. “so what do you say jacen ?”

“alice!” dorcas grinned at the sight of the other. “you look amazing,” it was always a relief whenever she saw one of her friends and it meant that they were here and safe from whatever had happened back home. “are you having fun?”

“hi.” alice responded as the other called her name. “why thank you. you look beautiful tonight yourself.” she said with a smile, returning the kind compliment. the other seemed familiar to alice yet she was not 100% sure where she knew her from, however she was not about to be rude and instead of asking she continued the conversation. “i am yes. this is all so lovely. are you enjoying yourself ?”

“long time no see stranger,” ewan smiled art the sight of willow. “I had no idea you were in dc, kid,” he’d known that most of his kids were here, but he hadn’t known that willow was here. “you enjoying yourself so far?” he asked. “they really went all out with the decorations and the ‘love’ theme,”

“dad ?” i’d been far too long without hearing him byet she’d recognize that voice anywhere. “i’m so glad to finally see you.” she added with a smile of her own, allowing herself to step closer to the older mckinnon. “i’ve been here for some time now. i came across mom and my sisters but no luck with you until now.” somehow she had yet to run into the males of the family and perhaps it was best to stay away from the youngest for now. at his inquire she shrugged. “i’d rather be elsewhere but seeing you here makes it all slightly better.” she said with a grin. “they really did. it’s a little too much for my taste. the whole love theme is not for me.”

“my my this does bring you back to the parties at the compound, does it not?” klaus asked as he approached her. “just… on water,” he grinned. “you do clean up nicely, little wolf,” he smiled. “tell me, are you enjoying yourself so far?”

“i suppose it does, huh ?” this hadn’t been her initial thought when she stepped foot on this boat but klaus comparison was not that far off. at his compliment the hybrid cocked her brow. “is that an actual compliment coming from you klaus ?” she never truly got them from the other so this came as a surprise. at his inquire she shrugged it off. “i suppose i am. but i’m mostly enjoying the open bar if i’m being honest.”

“Here you go.” Stevie smiled, handing a glass of wine to Twyla before raising her own. “Cheers.” She took a sip of the red, glancing around the upper deck. “It’s been alright, hasn’t it? Although I do wish I’d worn different shoes.”

“thanks, stevie.” the brunette said as she took the glass of wine from the other, without thinking it twice she took a quick sip after stevie said cheers. although she was out of her element twyla was enjoying herself so far. “it has. it’s very much like what you see on tv shows though. fun and beautiful but a tad too much for me.” she admitted and allowed herself to chuckle at stevie’s comment. “yeah i feel you. heels are not as easy as alexis makes them seem, huh ?”

“Have I told you that you look beautiful tonight?” Bill smiled softly at his wife. She looked positively ethereal in that dress, not unlike their wedding day. At least the Valentine’s celebrations were proving to be less disastrous than their wedding reception had been. They’d be able to enjoy themselves tonight, at least. With a grin and a flourish, he held his hand out towards her. “Mrs Weasley, would you care for a dance?”

“you have a few times now.” fleur teased her husband, before returning the compliment with a little extra sugar on top. “have i told you that you are the most handsome man not only tonight but every day.” she smiled sweetly as their eyes locked. she really did believe that though. the blonde always though her husband was the most handsome man, and being able to attend this event with him by her side was such a gift. without hesitation she took his hand and agreed to his invite. “it will be my pleasure, mr. weasley.”

a wide smile took over hayley’s features at the sight of her child. the brunette was so proud of the beautiful young woman she’d become. “i’m happy to see you here, hope.” suddenly being here was no longer something she was dreading, but it was now an opportunity to get to know who her daughter was now a little better. “would you like to go on a walk out on the deck with me ?” she wanted to get away from all the commotion to chat with her child.

genevieve was thrilled to be here with jacen, they had been hanging out for a few weeks now and so far they’re chemistry had been undeniable. the strawberry blonde was really attacked not only his looks but also his personality. seeing him all dressed up for the occasion brought a smile to her features. “you look very handsome today, jacen.” she said, a playful wink following her words.

alice had just arrived to the event being hosted. the brunette allowed herself to admire the decorations and set up for the event. as she came across the snack table she allowed herself to grab a pastry from in. the witch went on to take a small bite from it, still standing in front of the table, soon enough she realized there was someone behind her waiting. “i’m sorry. am i in your way ?” she stepped aside to open the way for him.

hayley marshall - attending solo

hayley is dreading this day. she is not a fan of these type of fancy events. regardless she decided to doll up for the heck of it. she will likely be spending most of the night by the bar, you’ll never see her without a drink in hand. she’s taking advantage of the open bar.

mara jade - attending solo

her opinions on the event as a whole are quite neutral. she will try to enjoy herself even if this is not particularly her thing. she’d willing to try though, maybe interact with some strangers in an attempt to socialize.  

twyla sands - attending solo

when i tell you she’d excited it is an understatement. this is twyla’s first fancy and big event. growing up in such a small town she never had the chance to experience anything like this. she is thrilled to meet new people and try new things. she’ll be all over the place doing everything there is to do. from solo pics with the photobook props to dancing till her feet hurt.

willow mckinnon - attending solo

she’s not happy to be here in the slightest. willow never really enjoys being in large groups of people. however she will try a tad to enjoy at least the food and the open bar. maybe even dance a little bit here and there. just anything to make this a somewhat pleasant experience.
