Jude Mathis… indeed an unfamiliar name, but still.. he relaxes slightly. Not as if he could put up much of a fight like this anyway.

“I-..I see. You may call me Oscar.. a praetor of the Abbey…” he groans, holding his hand over the wound with a bit more pressure.

“It is exactly as you say though, Jude.. I will not make it far like this.. I am not sure I will be able to come with you..Please, I implore you to leave me here before the Daemon finds you..I am in no state to protect a civilian..”

A praetor of the Abbey.. Better be careful in case this guy was like the other higher ups he’d heard of. Some weren’t as kind as the Abbey appeared, and he certainly didn’t agree with their methods on some things. Yet Jude just couldn’t leave someone hurt like this, it didn’t sit right with him.

The doctor shook his head, moving to Oscar’s side. He frowns a little when he gets a better view of the injury. Yes he had to get Oscar back to his home for treatment. “Just put your arm around me Oscar, I’ll keep you upright. We will be safe if we hurry.”

                                        her response comes with a light shake of the head. “no new injuries.” at least, not from this attack. she can feel no clear pain, no stinging of an injury left behind by the encounter- only the dull ache of old injuries, as of yet not fully healed, plague her form. yet as she speaks to the doctor, she can see the skepticism in his eyes- concerning her ‘self-defense’ tale or her response to his question, she does not know.

                                        ( he seems to have a strong desire to see the good in people- and so she will not tell him that the man turned into a daemon, howling in fury and pain, consumed by his own malevolence )

No new injuries.. Huh. That was never good. It seemed to indicate that this woman was a fighter, and it reminded him of a malak he frequently encountered. Even the doctor had his own scars from stories he did not fancy to speak of. People had grown cruel in this dangerous time, but there was still people to be saved and knowledge to be acquired.

“Well I’m glad you’re not hurt, people have to be careful you know? Especially with the fear about the daemonblight.”

Green eyes shift quickly to the boy– his body tense with caution as the other approaches. With Oscar in this state, it’d be hard to defend himself. The mutated Daemon had been a bit too much for him to handle on his own– a gash in his side which was bleeding heavily keeps him from being able to move properly.

Still… the boy didn’t seem to be a threat, and was even insisting on helping him…He’d never seen this kid before.

“E-Excuse me..? Who are you?”

If he was honest, Jude was used to this but that didn’t mean it didn’t hurt. With the world as it was he did find that people were not so likely to trust others. Jude shook his head, smiling kindly at the injured Exorcist. He means no harm, hurting someone already injured did not sit well with him.

“Jude Mathis. I’m a healer. Don’t worry sir, I’ll be able to patch you up.” He always kept medicine on him in a little pouch, but it may not be enough.. “I’m afraid you may need to come home with me, I do not have a lot of medicine on my person and you wont get far with that injury.”

                                        “ah.” she hadn’t realised that someone- a human, no less- was so close. truly, though, she only had herself to blame. often did she pride herself on her attentiveness, yet he had managed to remain close enough to catch sight of the end of her conflict with the man before her ( though now her assailant was little more than a corpse )

                                        “yes, i did. he attacked me- and so i retaliated. self-defence, no?”

If he’s honest, he isn’t so sure if he believes her. He’d been lied to many times in his life, and believed most of them.. And continued to do so, as the male wanted to believe that good still remained. Even if it was faint, and hard to detect.

“Are you hurt? I.. I’m a doctor, I’d be able to patch you up if that’s the case.”

Even if it was in self-defense.. Was killing really needed?

“You.. You killed him.” How could she do that? Especially in this time.. People had to stick together, especially with the daemonblight running rampant. Unless, she was a daemon..?
