“ There’s a hole in the center of the city, right? I woke up next to it — I think everyone does — but I didn’t see the rest of Pastel Palettes. ” They haven’t been taken yet, and hopefully, they never will. For instance, Chisato? Barely anyone can withstand her iron will, let alone force her into coming here. And Hina — who could even handle Hina? She would slip right out of the kidnappers’ hands! Of course Eve would fend off evildoers with her legendary samurai spirit, while Maya would outwit them using her amazing technical smarts, and, and…
…It’s hard not to miss everyone after being gone for so long. Aya lifts a hand to her cheek, rubbing away the tears before they can trickle down. Best to move on, lest the homesickness sweeps her voice away. “ Oh, Michelle! They let you keep her? ” That was… nice of them!
“ Of course. I would be happy to show you around. ” Not that there’s much to show, but it’s her duty as Misaki’s senior to ease her into island life as gently as possible. “ I know the city’s a bit of a mess right now, but I did find a cafe a while back. We could stop there first, and I’ll try my best to answer any questions you have. How does that sound? ”
How long was she here by herself, with no one else from her world around? Aya probably thought she’d never see anyone she knew ever again, and despite that she still manages to put on a smile and push on.
“Uh...y-yeah. They said they didn’t want it and just kinda...threw it at me. And I felt...sorta bad at the idea of just leaving it there, so...”
She trails off with a shrug. It’s honestly a shame; Aya is so abundantly more talented and hardworking than her. If only someone more competent had shown up. But no, it’s just Misaki here. The bear girl.
Actually, when was the last thing Misaki ate or drank anything...? As if in response her stomach suddenly grumbles angrily at her.
“That’d be great, actually. You’re a lifesaver, Aya!”
