people who haven't experienced imperialism and its consequences will never know what it's like to go through all the bookshops in your city and find only one row of measly books in your language while all the other books are from the country that terrorized yours for centuries. makes you want to rip your hair out and scream
straight people’s repulsion to women proposing to men needs to be studied.
It has been studied. It’s called women’s history. If y’all were willing to actually name the horrible things men have done to women, you would understand exactly where these issues originated. But y’all just want to be liked by men. I can’t help you with that.
feminism shouldn’t be about patting housewives on the back for making that decision but it should be about making sure that if that housewife’s husband starts cheating or slapping her around that she can be taken seriously, get a divorce, not have everyone in her life turn against her, not force her to send the children back to his house every other weekend where he starves them just to send her a message, and not be left in financial ruin
It's okay to have blatant double standards that favor women
Democrats. Please just start recording these conversations and playing them on the senate floor lol
man calling himself a feminist is like a cow siding with the butcher. Feminism exists to dismantle patriarchy, a system built by men, for men that benefits and serves men. You don’t get to profit from the structure and claim to be part of the movement tearing it down.
Today was the first day of school in Iran. Iranian girls are forced to wear hijab from the age of seven in school. Here is mother who has collected her child from school refusing to wear mandatory hijab. Iranian people are fighting the misogynist islamic republic of Iran everyday for a week now. Don’t forget us.
Being a woman isn’t a prize to fight for: it’s a biological reality, not a costume or concept to be appropriated. Reducing womanhood to a feeling or a performance is the very misogyny we’ve been fighting against.
Your mother is so delusional that she's honored a man would consider becoming less than and identify as a woman, is that it?
Thank you for proving exactly why we should all be Trans exclusionary.
Morocco "limits" polygamy, Russia embraces it—same patriarchy, different packaging. Women aren’t wombs to be traded, replaced, or shared.
Women's rights are continually negotiated and compromised within patriarchal frameworks that prioritize male prerogatives.

If you believe all men had a partner in the past, you agree with incel ideology
If you believe "male loneliness epidemic" is real, you agree with incel ideology
If you believe "women are choosing better nowadays", you agree with incel ideology

Male loneliness epidemic is certainly not real. I've made a post about this but let me just recap it here.
The myth stems from misinterpretation of GSS 2018 data measuring sexual activity.
Any reliable data that measures loneliness will show greater correlation with age compared to sex.
Men do have worse friendship quality.... with fellow men.
@evidence-based-activism made a post debunking male loneliness epidemic as well. Please give her post a read!
What's frustrating is this myth started being picked up and gaining popularity during the pandemic, when violence against women were on the rise. The panic about male loneliness epidemic is a manufactured issue designed to blame women for men having less sex, all while dismissing women's victimisation in the hands of men.
Being strangled for just 15 seconds can lead to an increased risk of strokes, seizures, loss of bodily functions, and potential death days after the incident.
Normalizing strangulation as a kink is harmful. It's putting men's pleasure above women's safety.
What?
Now i cant even take this post seriously.
Did you want to be informative or sexist?
Edit on this:
If losing oxygen for 15 seconds increases risk of stroke, seizure, loss of bodily functions would that also mean holding ur breath and what not also be harmful?
Holding your breath is NOT the same as being strangulated. Since you want me to be more informative, I'll explain further and mention all scientific studies and research, you might want to read:
Strangulation and choking, especially during sexual activities like erotic asphyxiation, can significantly increase the risk of strokes. This happens through mechanisms such as restricted blood flow in the carotid artery and jugular veins, which supply oxygen to the brain, leading to ischemia (oxygen deprivation) and potential cerebral infarction (stroke). Elevated blood pressure during strangulation can also strain blood vessels, causing aneurysm rupture or clot formation, further increasing stroke risk. Even brief asphyxia can cause severe brain damage, cardiac arrest, or death.
There are no "safe" levels of strangulation, as even mild compression can lead to serious complications like stroke, brain damage, and vascular injury.
And highlighting that strangulation harms women isn't sexist, on the contrary, it's feminist in nature, furthermore, it's a fact. Strangulation is a dangerous form of abuse used to control women, and is always the sign to future violence.

There is no "safe" way to strangle someone. It takes very little pressure to cause damage and each time runs the risk of damage and complications, even if it's "only fifteen seconds". Strangulation isn't just "losing oxygen", it's cutting off blood supply.
Cutting off blood supply to the brain over for short periods of time causes functional decline which can result in the person not being able to communicate if something feels wrong or if they want to stop (not being able to withdrawn consent). Damage can lead to blood clots, which can lead to stroke; research also suggests that strangulation is the cause of an increase number of strokes in young women. Repeated short episodes of this can also lead to brain injury which might not manifest until weeks/months later.
You can't take this seriously? Maybe you should try instead of getting caught up on policing OPs tone. Women are the main victim of strangulation related injury, disability and death, and their are more resources out their lying about ways to let it happen to them "safely" (some of these literal teen magazines) than there are being honest about the risk. Men are now walking away free from strangling their partners to death by using a "rough sex" defence. OP is right to be concerned that men's pleasure is being put above womens (and girls) safety.
My friend my gf chokes me all the time,
If thats true then i'll ask her to stop.
But i cant take you seriously when your being sexist. Thanks for informing me on the risks of strangulation but its not just men who strangle as a kink. My relationship is literal proof to it.
Also when did i mention there being a safe way to strangle? Before i got in my relationship the only time i thought i'd have to strangle someone is to defend myself.
The reply isn't just for you, it's to inform people who may have been thinking the same thing as you about the risks of strangulation. If tone is enough to put you off engaging with important health advice then good luck to you. Regardless, I'm going to leave sources because I'm genuinely concerned for yours and others wellbeing.

Health Issues result from Strangulation, US Training Institute on Strangulation Prevention. This one goes into more depth about the physical impact in Layman's terms, so I'll put that here:
Even minimal force may cause bleeding and/or swelling inside the neck. The great risk is that both bleeding and swelling can progress (often slowly) and not cause obvious problems until the airway is blocked or a vascular disaster occurs. Anywhere from 5.5 to 22 pounds of pressure can damage the carotid arteries which compromises blood flow to the brain. Delayed findings may include bleeding and damage to the inside of the artery.
As the body tries to heal, blood clots may form inside the artery and block blood flow or break off and travel to the brain, resulting in clinical findings similar to those of a stroke. Only 4.4 pounds of pressure on the jugular veins may cause a back up of oxygen-deficient blood in the brain, resulting in the rupture of internal blood vessels.
Compression of the carotid body, a neurologic structure located in the back of the neck, can result in the slowing of the pulse and progress to cardiac arrest. Strangulation may cause fluid overload in the lungs, (pulmonary edema), up to two weeks after.
I'd always advise doing additional reading and I'd highly encourage you to stop letting your partner strangle/choke you. As I said before, there is no safe way to do it, and whatever you get out of it not worth risking your life over.
