MHA 241 & 242

Sorry for the huge delay in case you hadn't seen my post explaining it my mum was in hospital at the time and I was simply to stressed to attempt to try however alls good now so let's get back into our hero arc

Honestly I think this should of gone in place of last chapter as there is no smooth transition back to hero and despite having some difficulty getting back into the hero side of this series it is nice to have something less dark from time to time

So without further ado let's move onto the hero's cover what I missed and what is to come

First thing first though this interview was adorable but I honestly think instead of recycling the same "I need to control my fathers power"development they could of flipped the script and have todoroki be the one with scenes cut out due to his deadpan voice lacking "enthusiasm" showing how screwed the perception of hero's really is. however horikoshi seems to be setting a blank slate even improving society just so that when shigaraki does attack itl be that much more devastating. "the calm before the storm" so to speak.

We see here that society has moved away from these shallow goals from heros instead applauding them for their efforts it shows just how out of touch the MLA were and that by clinging to the past they failed to see the world moving onward without them. Though at the same time to quote mt lady its

"A prayer for victory"

Honestly this is just adorable as we see the interview practice also considering ahiro wants to be a "hero who puts others at ease" his deadpan attitude could come into conflict with that but nevermind that.

We also get a rather moving moment from mt lady and it seems shes definitely grown as a character due to the #1 hero drawing everyone in... not in a literal sense but more with his burning determination then with cheesy giant 60s magnets it's a nice moment though I wish she had some screen time during the pro hero arc to show us this growth but it's easy to judge with hindsight

We also get to see how far deku has improved and its adorable how excited he is by how far (or little) he has progressed

I love that toshinori is now collecting notes on heros it's a adorable parallel between the two as internships begine making a comeback

And from this its safe to assume hawk`s has told his higher ups about the deika city incident as there practically drafting in students to help something I personally want is a mini-arc with all the neglected 1-A characters ie everyone except Shoto,Izuku,Bakugo,Iida,ururaka,kirishima,Tokoyami and momo as no one else has had a hole lot of development and this would serve to put them on a even playing field, I will probably make another post going into greater detail though since I didn't finish my re-write of the villain arc I might incorporate my rewrites into the schedule I`m working in for the start of next year

Besides this we also get a nice christmas chapter something I didn't realise I actually needed but its nice to slow down and enjoy these characters and their real life interactions even if it does come off kinda fanfic-y we even get little Eri our resident loli- all in all I enjoyed it

we also get some more insight into best Jeanist and bakugo and its rather sad that he doiesnt know of his fate, then again neither do we. I also wish this aspect of hero names was mentioned earlier in the series but Its still a rather nice detail I like and I may do a post on pro-hero names and the vibe they give off.

We end on this rather interesting note as all 3 will be interning under endeavour or at least so it seems at this point in time this will be great for bakugo as he and endeavour both have/or rather had a lot in comment the most striking being their drive to be number 1 whilst this will allow deku to be more self assertive either way I look forward to the dynamic between the 3 and hope this will allow other characters to receive spotlight

Next chapter shigaraki is going to deliver whatever the doctor wants to the u.a traitor

It would be a easy way to reintegrate that plot thread into the story and it would make sense seeing as the doctor is close with afo and would most likely have that information

Mha 240

Following last week we actually have a inverse.time skip of a week….meta

despite hero society criticising these actions most take it as actions of brave individuals this is how I wanted the fight to go down with the LoV they didnt have to die and they didnt have to become subservient well I suppose we could have a later arc with a swarm of vigilantes roaming the street after witnessing this.

The MLA has brushed this off as a attack by a group of 20 villains something I found intriguing was that the scapegoats where most likely killed rather brutaly before realising it’s most likely due to skeptics IT abilitys

Metal Gear Toga is super adorable with her eye patch and gives her design some flair adding a certain maturity which shows character deelopment in itself due to how childish she was.

Not a fan of shigarakis new design in fact I hate it the stark contrast of his disheveled face/hair with the clean suit and the pointless collar clearly inspired by overhaul just looks wrong perhaps if he replaced the fur hood and blazer with a trench coat something like this except perhaps a open shirt with a t shirt beneath perhaps something like this rather then looking like a crack head pimp

Drawing parallels to afo someone who shigaraki still idolizes and I wouldn’t be surprised if the last hand is the replacement one given by him for future character development

Also while I understand the last hand is symbolic of his relationship with all for one horikoshi should of done that without the hand motif

On the other hand (pun intended) wheelchair re-destro Carry’s even more menace simply due to the contradiction of being a wheelchair and knowing he could fuck you up hopefully he gets another mech suit in that thing

Though I’m not a way of thre way its handled I do like how now that the stress of being leader has been taken off him hes just a happy boi though not to the fanatic extent as it’s a power imbalance that just looks wrong a feeling akin to deja vu if horikoshi had made explicit this fanatic almost maniacal belief in liberation rather then the stress of the position at a young age it could be played off as way more screwed up and the nonsensical nature would make more sense which is rather oxymoronic

Though considering how readily the old mla excepts this either shows how far their devotion means or ther lack of attachment to the group leading their liberation

That’s not the name that’s a stupid name other translations have meta leugue battlefront or something along those lines which I vastly prefere this is also another scene I have mixed feelings about its a great parallel to the reveal all the way in chapter 6

However horikoshi screwed up by not giving them new equipment seeing as they have a stat boosting equip mogal directly beneath them

Geten is revealed to be female which feels forced as a mystery reveal I think horikoshi didnt have time or couldn’t think of a good reason to hide her and the biggest piece of evidence is that she’s not a terrible character. But in all seriousness as a female character with a unique ideology and personality a powerfull quirk and not fan service bait she is already my best girl and now my Curious X re destro ship is now geten x re destro even if horikoshi wants to ship her with dabi which would give him some much needed character development

Though I ddont like how people are pushing their LGBTQ agenda onto her why does a character have to be trans? We have tiger and magne theres your represenration

We also get best boy hawks who has met up with dabi to reveal the package only for dabi to mention that it might be a fake in other words checkhovs gun suggests that jeanist is still alive

We end of with dr ujiko requesting shigaraki to deliver something for him

All in all I liked the chapter but feel like too much wasnt done I also dont like how re-destro is now shigarakis bitch but ehh it’s not terrible and I look forward to future developments

Geten a ice dude when you get to know him

and so we come to the last of my rewrites for the core of the MLA and i would like to bump him up to my favourite MLA member as after writing this up I’ve gained a new found enjoyment

ice to meet you

with genes character i would like to explore the care system within the mha universe one core change i want to make to getens character is making him previously quirkless

born to a affluent family gene was soon abandoned at the age of 6 in order to avoid the social stigma of having a quirkless child the care system in this universe is filled with quirks children,children with quirks to difficult to deal with or quirks superior to their parents and as such are abandoned out of spite 

its this setting that imprints genes survival of the fittest mentality and in some form of twisted self hatred grows to despise weakness in any form 

its soon after that geten is adopted into the MLA due to his quirk which is simply buried within the subconcious and that by using a meta engine then can trigger the quirk gene

despite this reddesto was not supportive of the indoctinating geten out of some form of pity and offered him escapism in the form of a school education something he turns down in order to perfect his quirk control

Skeptic

Moving on to my favourite member of MlA as I try and fulfill that little hole within that I didnt get the reveal of his one failure

His one failure in my version is the death of his father despite this being extremely cliche it works on multiple levels it allows him to be a sympathetic character whilst following through with his failure without being anticlimactic in nature

Chikazoku never had a great relationship with his father more invested in breaking down and rebuilding computers and other technology growing slowly distant from him until one day his father contracts cliche disease #7 that slowly begines killing him

Desperate for one last conversation only now realising what he had lost spending every waking hour developing a new VR technology to transfer his fathers consciousness despite being cliche it ties in well with his background

Starved of any social interaction he begines developing relationships with his inanimate dolls to the point of humanising them to a creepy extent this also affects how he views people in parallel to twice seeing them as pawns to be ordered around whilst twice sees them as who they are

It's only when re-destro enlists him that he finds a purpose in his life a goal to strI've for instead of wallowing in self pity which also plays into why he wants twice in order to halt another personal tragedy whilst he pushes forward to complete his virtual world

Unfortunately his device was a huge failure and in the end he couldn't save his father it's the trauma from this that he associates with failure which is why he refuses to accept failure in any form.

Follwing off our very own killer queen today we will be moving onto my least favourite member of the Mla

"Yep definitely shit"

His quirk buffs other people in short it's a rallying cry yet it seemingly doesn't affect himself which will be a pivotal point of his back story

Despite not liking him I still believe he was underutilised during this arc with a mob rallying quirk his role should of been more prominent with nothing to base his backstory off I will have to incorporate his quirk and his personality will be built around that

Being raised in a upper middle class household only the best was acceptable for Hanabata and the best is what he got raised as a spoiled child gave him a huge sense of self importance and it was because of this he knew he was destined for greatness

However i would like to point out that he will serve as a foil to both spinner and compress in my rewrite

However something has been playing on his mind and that's despite being the most popular,wealthiest, and intelligent student in his school he is not respected for that but rather his social status he inherited from his family

It's only a few years later after a chance encounter with re-destro that he learns not all are born to lead and some must stay on the side lines working as a parallel to spinner as someone with no direction who adopted the ideals of a charismatic leader and as such attempts to emulate them

Cut forward into the future as hanabata is nearing the end of his high school days a institution he only joined to boost his own ego among the unwashed masses and head of the presidential club .

Unable to accept the idea that he could be lacking in any area he justifys this attitude as foolish sheep refusing to understand his superiority and as such need a Sheppard a role that only he is qualified to fulfill this ties into his name which translates into cavity or hell this being a metaphor for his inner emptiness

back again with another character rewrite for a underdeveloped character who was quickly removed from the story with nothing actually interesting about her

we only have this scene as a insight into her past and as such we are going to milk it for everything its worth

going of this id like to draw a few parrelels to toga in order to base some form of character around as such i think a nice comparison would be that kizuki is unable to understand her emotions and as such surpasses them reflecting toga who mistakes her admiration for love yet still acts on it taking her own emotions at face value

if we take this conversation to take place during her stint as a reporter it wouldn't be amis to suggest that she had a cold unemotional detachment at least towards the subjects of her articles

this would serve as a rather bitter irony of her quirk being a genetic version of the idea stronger together rather then divided 

its not until much later on that cruise meets re-destro for a interview surrounding his belief and ideology of his cause and its his passion and reverent belief in this that communicates the importance of emotion and its health following a arc where she to hopes to be able to have that passion for her life and fully understand herself in the way that re-destro does

socially isolated and ostracised leave her with a cold detachment being unable to understand her own emotions she begins studying the actions and responses of others in order to not only understand them and herself and in the same stroke blend in with them

now it fairly come in shone for characters who are unable to understand basic human nature or emotions are rather emotionally stunted or in my case socially isolated and its with this that i delve into  my head cannon surrounding her backstory

this will be a ongoing theme as a comparison between shigaraki and re-destro and how his acolytes join not just because he spouts a ideal but his reverent belief behind it. as well as the theme of the acolytes beneath re-destro preaching for liberation yet being suppressed or control bound by their lives unable to escape from the past.

the creepy physical relationship she has with her subordinates will be further developed on as it gives off a almost sexual vibe so in my rewrite it will be cruise attempt to emulate a emotion after years of repression leaving her unable to even feel them at this point in other words a shallow fallacy that works as a contrast to togas supposed love despite it being deeply unhealthy.

Re-Destro a Re-write

Pun intended

In order to fit the end of the arc beter into place we will have a better look into re-destro`s past and some foreshadowing as the way horikoshi injected it into the story felt rushed especially when he then immediately signs him up to the LoV and yes i plan on doing this for all the MLA 

Just throw this flashback earlier on in the story as it conveys everything you need to know by only giving the bare bones basics That at a young age this role was forced into him and that couldn’t of been healthy.

I’d also like to explore re-destros childhood more in depth especially in seeing how being raised into a cult like group and forced to carry on the will of that groups figure head

In my rewrite the theme of freedom will be more prominent in his backstory much like the main story his will be of a man forced to repeat a rhetoric of truths that can never apply to him as he can never have that freedom being brainwashed into a successor

In this rewrite re-destro will have a childish side both as a foil to shigaraki and in a attempt to retain the essence of himself that is being overwritten by years of brainwashing.

this mentality would be oxymoronic as it would leave him to despise the acolytes for striving for a freedom without paying the same cost

Going off this childish theme on want the design of the city to change a bit maybe just a theme park in the centre just to add some colour and make it less bland some extra scenery so to speak

I can see the quirk mother being a symbolic representation of jesus and the idea of sacrifice for freedom the same with redestro

As the story progresses on i`d like to see it delved into more with the religious aspect of this cult divulged further

with re-destro being brainwashed with these exact words believing in them to a religious extent it reinforces his change of heart

following this I like there ideology of“not using your quirk to it’s full potential is squandering your gifts and as such repressing yourself your very being

the idea of forcing these views onto a young rikayi serving as a parralle between him and shigaraki both being indoctrinated at a young age but one being denied freedom of decison yet being forced to stand behind this rhetoric whilst the other was allowed to reach his own decisons representing the freedom he seek`s

Drawing another parallel between the two once re-destro takes the position of leader of the MLA he would then order his underlings to murder his parents as a cathartic revenge in order to remove the constant stress from his life only it doesnt work like that now burdened with the death of his family

This being based on the Japanese version for the word quirk which translates into personality itself

This ideology Leading to a mentality of yearning for freedom yet forced to bend to the rules and laws of society 

following the theme of parralelles i`d also have a similer situation come up where rikayari is forced to killl someone who besmirches the laws of their religion again drawing parralles of freedom and opression with shigaraki and the goons he murderd

Then once we cut to present time we could learn that he sees the death of the supposed heretic as justifiable and the death of his family a regret contrasting with his view on the situation at the time and skewered perception of hindsight.

Sorry for the delay, and well not for posting my reworking of this arc ive just been lacking the energy and i figured seeing as these are written with foresight i might as well wait until the arc is completly finished before i post my reworkings anyway onto the chapter of the day and the one which decides how i rank the seriese from now on,

We get a gorgeous representation of the destruction that works as a parralell to a young shigaraki also surrounded by death and destruction 

Re-destro chopping his own feet off was a pure brutality and i loved itthis scene also reminded me of deku during the tournement arc when he used part of a robot to ride out the explosion from mine

however i really didnt like the scale of his power i didnt mind the first power up where he tore through that crowd i was fine with that hell even the tower i was fine with i just think horikoshi is going way to far to prove shigaraki as a individualistic threat and as such everything else seem`s pointless Gigantomachia,high end etc all seem powercrept already and its kinda pointless Toga needed a upgrade to bee on a even scale and twice needed it because character develpment but honestly shigaraki didnt need this levle of destruction and i understand what there going for but as i`ve mentioned in my post on toga give him a shot of trigger instead ,an easy work around if anyone`s forgot just ask in the comments, this kinda puts them on 7 deadly sins level of destruction hell maybe even more and i feel that horikoshi should reign it in however i do enjoy the way he uses it and it is reliant on emotinal strenght so i suppose i can allow it to slide

we get this quote which horikoshi places in order to justify re-destro giving the leugue over to shigaraki honestly i kinda wish horikoshi had exposited more on the panal of re-destro and the ideals enforced upon him as a child seeing as this honestly feel`s rather shoe-horned in and rushed though i much prefere this then killing off the MLA though so ehh

We also end on a awesome panal

all in all i enjoyed this chapter but it feels that horikoshi went overboard to a cartoonish extent in order to justify the leugue as a threat even though he didnt need to.

They have 

(1) A Unlimited army of twice

(2)Toga who can now copy quirks , to a certain extent,

(3) 1 man army shigaraki 

(4) 12 to 13 high end nomu

(5) gigantomachia

(6) The core MLA  Re-destro/Geten?/Trumpet/Skpetic?

(7) whatever is left of the MLA lets say 6000 or up

(8)the underutalized trigger drug

(9)quirk erazer bullets

(10) a whole fucking city

they are now a huge destructive force making it kinda hard to route for them as underdogs they have evrything they need if they dont win then there fucking idiots.

all in all i didnt hate this i just hope horikoshi can balance everything out but a war between hero`s and villains is clearly becoming more and more likely

Shigaraki & Re-Destro

So after last weeks chapter which to be perfectly fair i was rather harsh with and perhaps that affected my review however i am incredibly annoyed that all this build up seemingly has lead to nowhere and i am here to rectify both this and that arc to start with we`ll begine with shigaraki and re-destro my posts will be catagorized by which MLA member vs which LoV member as such my next posts will be Toga Vs Curiose 

without further ado lets delve into how creativly bankrupt i am and how i would change this dynamic

Shigaraki 

This i have more problems with mainly due to the fact horikoshi gave him the power boost way to early in the arc and as such he had to keep recieving power ups in lesser forms as to not make either of them look like jobbers.

In my retelling when twice attacks re-destro the building will collapse but only due to the support beams for the building being decayed if we look at chapter 224 we see his decay has already greatly improved from his base decay 

At the same time a clone of Mr.compress would compress giran throw his compressed marbel onto the story of another building and decompress it before impact rather then twice clones making cushions

It`d be during the fight but instead of shigaraki fighting re-destro one on one it`d be a clone of twice continously generating clones of the leugue of villains 

each one would begine chipping at re-destro`s health little by little

we`d have some introspection from each of the leugue while fighting re-destro what they think isnt pivotel to the plot but lets just sum it up as power of freindship and its during this fight that shigaraki then unlocks his repressed memories

this would lead to the first instance of wide-spread decay while at the same time re-destro would power up to his 80% form and wipe out any clones within the area leaving shigaraki on his own ready to prove his worth

i wont mention how i`d like the fight to end until i see how horikoshi plans on dealing with the aftermath but never mind that lets move on to......

Re-Destro

while its to soon to be called out on this i think we should get a deepr look into re-destro`s past over the course of the arc in order to build parralells with shigaraki

.Obviously from the flashback we can see Re-destro`s been indoctrinated into the meta liberation army by his parents so going of the theme of being indoctrinated into the legacy of a villain i want to build more parralells between the two

the parrallels are already there with shigaraki refusing his households doctrine while re-destro was forced into it thus accepted it 

following that logic i would like to delve more into the cult side of the meta liberation army for example we could have shigaraki taken in by the meta liberation army away from his family at a young age lets say 5 for parralels sake  they would then  see him as a literal reincarnation of destro.

we could then get a few cutscenes of him being indoctrinated being forced to fit into the mold of destro his personality in essance being written over

much like shigaraki he could be put in the situation to kill someone for now lets say its a reporter who`s been spreading liable about the meta liberation armys goal ,again as a religious fanatic group they would see this as a insult, however unlike shigaraki he is forced to kill this reporter against his will ,this will be a important note if slightly cliched. (fyi this is refrence back to when shigaraki killed those shonen cliches in 237 not his family.)

i`d also like to see re-destro`s care for his Admins the lower echalon not so much considering from what we`ve seen he only values them due to there faith in destro`s ideology mourning there sacrifice not them as people. in fact i`d like it if Re-destro was painted in a similer light to shigaraki in offering these outcasts and loners a place to belong especially seeing thats how most cults tend to work

Mha 238  a second Glance

after my knee jerk reaction of a post yesterday i figured it`d only be fair if i reread thge latest chapter and look at what it did right instead of complainign about the sudden disregard for anyone not named shigaraki

i like the way horikoshi twisted the letting go of the past trope where instead of finding peace he just becomes justified in his pursuit of destruction 

I did like the contrast between the two characters of shigaraki and re-destro when he relises shigaraki`s been truly liberated from any attachment to this world while his own flashback hints at being forced into this position against his will denying him any freedom

 which contrasts well with the way all for one raised shigaraki in a less dominering state allowing him to be truly free

again the mech suit was badass

everything else i hated though and i will be posting those "re-imaginings” i mentioned

Funnily enough i accidently completly forgot about mha i`ve been reading the fire force manga at the minute and it slipped my mind oh well lets get back into this series. and discuss the implications of this chapter be if for the better or worse.

Obviously it was the hand of his father shigaraki destroyed last panal but its nice to get confirmation i also love the way shigaraki is drawn here it really gives of the true evil unleashed vibe he`s going for by his demonic portrayle 

  A/N: when the spoilers came out i was struggling to understand what that was behind shigaraki and at first i thought it was the residual energy of re-destro`s stress bomb but its his BLOODY trenchcoat im glad as the possibility of it being another quirk did spring to mind.

 Again going by the evil unleashed theme this page gives off the vibe of the evil literally seeping through shigaraki and going of the theme previously shown his hair is actually bleach white in this panal a small detaiul that makes a lot of sense considering his emotional state causes his hair to whiten and its hilarious how much he looks like Nagito from dangenronpa 2.

And now i totaly want this to be shigaraki`s character design 

Following this we also get a really mother fucking badass mech suit for re-destro so beutifull i`m practicly orgasming

Also it appears i was right in my previous chapter reviews of destro`s will being forced onto re-destro as a child another nice parralel to shigaraki and i will be doing a character analysis on everone in this arc once its finished. i also think its inceasingly more likely that re-destro will die from a heart attack.   

Honestly this is kinda disapointing horikoshi was clearly to impatient to blow his load on shigaraki and now we cant have development for other characters because there dragon level threats now something i`ll make a seprate post on during the week hiatus . also geten has been taken out like a bitch 

You cannot fast travel when enemies are nearby

honestly we dont know enough about the doctor to say this is out of character but he did wake up machia to save him and yet now he doesnt care hell its not like they can track teleportation coordinates but i guess he figures this is justified seeing as they tried to abuse the system .

the chapter ends on a rather dramatic note with re-destro i doubt he`s gone just yet seeing as we havent got a full panal with his arbiter helmet on honestly the last chapter was semi decent if rather unneded but this chapter is rather dispointing as its effectivley cut any character development short with a week hiatus i will be doing a post on everything i would change about this arc as its both my favourite and my least favourite

Skeptic in nature

just a small post as i disect this character and figure out the direction horikoshi could be taking him in.

lets start of with his name Tomoyasu Chikazoku 

copy pasted from tvtropes                                                                              Tomoyasu(友保) is "friend" + "preserve/guarantee" while Chikazoku(近属) is "nearby" + "under control of". 

now there`s two ways horikoshi could play this seeing as his naming scheme tends to have some importance behind it

(1) either this alludes to his backstory and how he acts as a foil to twice perhaps being ostrasiced for his intelligence leading to his superiority complex and how he talks down to people but at the same time much like twice he grew lonely and his puppets serve as his freinds ie. under control of guaranted freinds 

 it would also explain there relationships with their team mates twice feels genuine remorse for when any of his team mates dies or is gravely injured however skeptic is more focused on getting revenge on the blight against the MLA rather then the death of curious herself seeing her as more of a “puppet” tying into the theme of their quirks

or and this is what i`d like to see though i have my doubts 

his name is referring to Re-Destro instead of his quirk considering his goal with twice is to preserve re-destro following this line of thought then you could interprete his name as to preserve and control a nearby freind  following this logic it wouldnt be to far fetched to assume that Skeptic is manipulating everything from the shadows with the whole MLA being his puppets  

and then when we look closer at Re-Destro it only supports this theory

Destro is the name of a Gi Joe villlain who focuses in selling Arms to cobra take that in consideration to what detrenat want and then look at the MLA symbol

thats clearly a refrence to che gueveara or rather a famous photo which for some reason i cannot find aywhere must be a conspiricy who has become a symbol of freedom of opression in short the destro of this universe however a lot of peopel forget or symply dont remember that Castro was actually in charge all of this kinda leads me to believe theres a hidden boss and i personally want it to be skeptic 

of course all of this ties into destro as well as his succesor so i wouldnt be suprised if all for one was the one who forged the MLA or at least manipulated it to such a extent that he might as well of ,though i`m not a particular fan of this idea it is a possibilty 

a final possibility is that Skeptic was roped into the MLA we never see him spout any of the MLA`s rhetoric or if he does he doesnt do it to the same extent as Curiouse and ...trumpet(pftt hopefully they change it to war cry or even name him after his quirk because that name is just awefull) take that into consideration along with his companys name feel good.inc obvious refrence is obvious however the songs about the evils of consumarism and being trapped in a evil corperation you cant escape. perhaps a rather literal metaphor

so after last week i wasn't sure if wed be getting another backstory chapter the first one setting up shigaraki and his home life was plenty already but horikoshi dropped a second one that went into horrific detail to the point where that 236 is in my top 10 might drop a list of my favourite chapters at some point i dunno however seems were getting tomura shigaraki origin 

anyway lets get straight into this chapter

what i love about little tenko wandering around is that it really shows how apathetic everyone is to the situation especially since apathy is a rather large societal problem especially prominent in japan though i doubt horikohsohi is trying to have political commentary in his manga he simply highlights these problems which in my opinion is the best way to go about it. it also continues this theme of shigaraki searching for a helping hand in this mental anguish and its to bad that the one who finds him is Eviler(er) Lex Luthor

cutting forwards after tenko is taken in by all for one who describes the itch as a urge to kill and after having a run in with some asshats as there discussion boils down to following your heart instead of repressing it and i kinda like the way horikoshi has portrayed there relationship yes all for one is manipulating him but thats not the same as warping him he's not saying oh they wronged you go kill them he's allowing tenko to come to his own decision it also gives the illusion for choice in shigaraki he wasn't forced to continue down this road which i prefer to the more artificial versions of this backstory where a character is manipulated to such an extent they might as well be a clone.

Forshadowing 101 its getting more and more likely that shigaraki`s going to kylo ren all might

don't know how i feel about shigaraki now wearing the hands of some no name shonen cliches its a nice metaphor especially when there destruction symbolises letting go of his need for petty revenge but at the same time it feels like horikoshi kinda used this as a explanation for the before unaccounted 2 pairs of hands and leaves me to question why he doesn't wear overhauls hand or at least keep it as a trophy but I still like it

Honestly i don't know why people take all for one at face value here when he tells him shigaraki is his name considering horikoshi likes to have there names tie into there characters and while it would add some complexity to his character considering shigaraki has a bizarre resemblance to his brother however shigaraki means death grip and whilst he has a grip over shigaraki its more then likely this is a manpution tactic as giving tenko his own name gives the perception of acceptance and adoption.that being said ive always liked the idea of All for one having some form of affection for shigaraki and in a sense giving tenko the name shigaraki would also be a brand in a weird twisted sense especially when all for one wants shigaraki to follow in his footsteps

guess hes shigaraki.sr from now on?

also as good as horikoshi is at drawing hands his feet look really weird

personally i think this chapter was kinda pointless i loved it none the less and it had nice parallels which is something i always love but we didn't really need this chapter it could of come at a later date, honestly i kinda wished horikoshi had eeked out shigarakis backstory over the arc a few flashbacks here and there rather then constantly dropping origin chapters because as much as i enjoy them i want to see more of the league .

despite this the ending of this chapter is one of the best endings for a chapter however I'm hoping this doesn't mean shigaraki will suddenly gain any more power ups considering all he needed was spreading decay but all we can do is speculate. that being said i can't wait for shigaraki to finally move on and see how he develops seeing as this was almost inevitable

After having a long time to think about this I`ve decided to focus solely on My hero content as not only has my viewing schedule been of track but I simply don’t have the time anymore to sit down and watch Vrain`s I`m sure to most of you this wont mean anything but if anyone followed me because of it I figure I might as well mention now that I plan to drop the series anyway lets ignore that and get into this weeks chapter.

And Holy fucking hell was this chapter intense my heart was in my stomach throughout this entire chapter horikoshi just doesnt let up and i personally believe this chapter is so raw due to the fact that its not expected, at least i didnt expect it seeing as last chapter was a good place to leave his flashback with some more exploration on that backstory in the future but screw that horikoshi continuies to subvert my expectations and delivers what i believe is one of the most tragic backstories in shonen. so lets delve into why this chapter and Tenko`s backstory in general is a perfect fit for whats already been established.

Follwoing off from last chapter we see Tenko (which is how i will refere to child shigaraki as it saves having to diferentiate between the two) as he stares at the lifeless puddle of body chunks that was once his dog and its honestly heartbreaking for me especialy when there have been times where i to have only been able to turn to my dog for comfort (here`s a picture just cuz)

However the tragedy doesnt end there (obviously) as Hana apolagises to tenko for throwing him under the bus like that not noticing that poor little psuedo bean is having a full blown meltdown.

And there`s a strange poetry in the way tenko`s family reacts to this breakdown with both Hana refusing to step in and save tenko when he really needs it once more rather literally turning her back on him.

Honestly the raw emotion horikoshi conveys within this chapter is something else and i say this every week but horikoshi is always surpassing expectations the fact that he showed a child dying albeit he cuts to silhoutte is so dark it also disuads the idea of all for one lying about his familys hands becuase at this point it seems to split them into blobs of flesh.

 we then witness his mothers death as she reaches out to him only for it to be far to late to help him now a rather physical poetic metaphor and despite tenko saying it was at this point he understood what was happening i think horikoshi`s left it to our interpreation and from my stanpoint the most probable is this.

(tenko ,being a child, didnt grasp the full reality of wanting to kill his grandparents and mother yes he was pissed due to them idly standing by but more then likely a abnormal quirk awakening like this and eri`s bends to the users will whilst awakening  after all kids get pissed at parents and yes sure they may want to kill them and most dont but if my little theory is right then surely the thought alonje would allow his quirk to do this.

we then see as tenko`s father walks out to see this destruction before him and the look on his face says it all especially after the promise he`d made that very night losing the only family he has once again and despite people hating him and sayin “oh he`s a abusive prick” i`d again like to mention the fact it was implied this wasnt the norm and he even admits he went to far honestly i feel bad for both parties at this exact moment (aslo small side note but the fact that his fathers foster parents if he had any that is arent there kinda indicates a skewered relationship anyway so his childhood wasnt a cake walk either. though he does smack him upside the rack with a gardening tool he didnt use the bladed side so he clearly didnt want to kill tenko, the feelings certainly not mutual 

Honestly this is my favourite part of his backstory it makes him out to be more then simply a poor helpless childhood who`s quirk went of the rails and i`ll delve more into this in my summery though the following pages are pure horror inducing. 

HOLY FUCKING SHITBALLS

Again this chapter was legitimatly perfect a 10/10 also evil children are one of my favourite tropes due to how creepy they are i wish we could of seen more of mini-me as i really love his character design and i know that sounds stupid considering there one and the same but mini shigaraki carries of that same menace pre-kamino shigaraki had and i always liked that, though i do like the direction there taking with him

Shigaraki`s backstory is perfect as not only a foil to midoriya but as his own character the previous chapter set up Tenko as a foil to deku both dreaming of being a hero and both being unable to do so the comparison of tenko to all might breaks my heart when you comapre it to his future self its like watching a trainwreck in reverse 

Nana`s grandson not being a 1 dimensional abuser but a legitimatly compelling and complex character who in his own way is trying to stop tenko having his little heart broken though in the most unhealthy way possible.

the recurring theme of one bad day as all of tenko`s family watches on helplessly never trying to save him not once but twice as well as sociaty doing the same really shows the apathetic nature of this scoiaty as well as by extension japanese sociaty as a whole though i doubt horikoshi is trying to make a political statement in order to bring light to these issues at least i doubt thats his perogative. 

to finally willfully killing his own father it changes the stroy from a helpless child manipulated by all for one to someone who at his core has fucked up tendancies which is greta as i`m not really  a fan of villains who have been manipulated to such a extent there just puppets as it removes any sense of a individuality from a character

it also sends a greater message the fact that at the route of it shigaraki`s already fucked up and kinda leavs the idea of midoriya being able to save shigaraki up in the air all in all my One`s justice main has took the title of favourite chracater by a mile whilst i would like to see more in depth how his childhood under all for one was especially his relationship with a younger kurogiri

at the same time i do want to move back to the fight with re-destro either way horikoshi can do no wrong.
