For reference, the symbols by their gamer tags are their roles: 3 bullets for DPS, shield for tank, cross for support, and that recycling-type one is for flex (meaning a player that plays multiple roles). The actual details of FantasyOverwatch esports aren't plot relevant, but it's still something I thought about, more on that below the cut:

If you're wondering why the team is structured this way, that's because it's 2016! The game is barely six months old, and roles haven't really been codified in the same way that they are today (or even just a couple months later). At this time, fleck is the only person on the team who considers themselves a flex player, though laner and daeos will both be labeled flex supports and nyangi will be labeled flex dps when those terms really start to matter. Like in our world, korean pros only got access to the game only on release (as opposed to EU and NA pros, who got beta access and were able to play tournaments before the game released iirc), but unlike our world, Igni Astra figured out the first proto-rush comp (rein, dva, roadhog, ana, lucio, and whatever dps your sixth was best at) way faster than anybody else and then managed to wipe the floor with every team in apex summit season 1 as a result. This was mostly thanks to fleck and nyangi, because fleck was the first person to really solve both zarya and dva after her matrix rework and because nyangi was just a mechanical warlord on genji and pharah. Unfortunately for IA, they would not solve dive anywhere as quickly due to a departure, hero pool limitations, morale, and some frankly winz-esque lucio from splinter (he got better dw), and would struggle for nearly a year until the advent of zen/lucio dive and moth meta--just before teams were signed for the first season of FOWL.

Needed to draw something cute to offset the doom and gloom of main AT canon, and lanersale fit the bill

They have a noir detective and femme fatale dynamic except Mo (the taller one) is the femme fatale, or rather the stud fatale, and Adanna is the detective.

Hey, it's me! ...Sorry for the radio silence. To put it bluntly, things have been rough both creatively and mental health-wise. It is what it is and I'm not sure when that's gonna change. As part of dealing with that, I'm (finally) going to officially put Ad Terra on hiatus so that I can work on myself-- and more relevantly-- on making my relationship with this comic healthier. Perfectionism and self-doubt are soul-crushing, and I'm not gonna let them go unchecked any longer. My plan right now is to keep chipping away at pages, but to give myself grace and not post anything until I can accept that my comic (a passion project!!!!) doesn't have to be professional quality in order to deserve to exist, and until I can feel pride in the imperfect things I do create. I'm also gonna give myself room to experiment more and let the results just be even if they don't work out. That's gonna look like stylistic changes and potentially a drop in quality, but I've been drawing long enough to know that the only thing that actually leads to consistent improvement is repetition-- not fiddling with the same 2 dialogue boxes for 3 hours as I lose my mind trying to figure out which alignment guides the eye in the most optimal way. It's a long road ahead, but I'd much rather walk it than not. Thank you for your support, and I'll see you on the other side.
