Broom Go Vroom: Race 13 - Autódromo Anáhuac, Mexico [Dramione F1 Broom Racing AU]
Babe, wake up - it's race week!
Chapter 29 A03
Of course Rita has the tea ready for us. She's taking a very close look at everyone's favorite new invention from last week's race... 🍆🥜😏
Chapter 30 AO3
And now we're in Mexico City, and we're ready to fly! It's a night race, and it's technical, so Draco should do well... But will he? Or will off-track distractions keep him from being his best?

“Will you come out with me tonight?” He held his breath and waited for her answer.
“Tonight? But it’s—”
“A night race,” he said. “Qualis aren’t until the evening, so we’ll have time to recover tomorrow morning.” If all went to plan, they would both need a lie-in. “And it would be fun to explore Mexico City with you.”
“It would be fun,” she admitted quietly.
Draco veered into the pit lane. The only location that could accommodate the Top Flight sheds whilst preserving the city’s thriving commercial areas was along the Avenida Constituyentes in the Bosque de Chapultepec. He dropped altitude, grateful that the old-growth trees and wrought-iron fence had been temporarily relocated. It would have been a pain to worry about getting dislodged by a branch and hitting his charms box marks.
He stepped aside, allowing the team to dispel the old charms and cast a modified litany. He used the time to stare up at Hermione. She was lovely against the gloaming, her body silhouetted by sunset, her curly hair tousled by the intermittent turbulence of passing Flyers.
“Is that a yes?”
“Okay. Sure. Yes,” Hermione said, convincing herself with each repetition. “Yes, let’s go out. But nothing too wild.”
Draco mounted the Nought-Three. “Never.”
“And we’re back to the shed no later than midnight.”
“Deal.”
More like ideal. Midnight might even be too late; he wanted her in his bed expeditiously.

It's Race Week in The Cornfield, USA!
Chapter 28: AO3
Grab your snacks and strap in - we're going racing! 🧹🏁🍿

“Did you know that the tracks made by our races have been interpreted by Muggles as evidence of extraterrestrial life?” Hermione said as Draco pulled out of his charms box.
“Like tentacle monsters from Mars?”
Hermione smiled at his tone, warm with amusement and the hint of disbelief. “The very same. We’re making crop circles, and the American Muggle media has a field day with them.”
He hesitated for a breath. “Hermione, are you making a pun?”
The accusation clicked, and Hermione threw her head back, letting out a too-loud, “Ha!” Draco’s line on her clipboard juddered in response. “I suppose I am. That was clever, wasn’t it?”
“Don’t give yourself too much credit,” he grumbled. “What’s got you into such a cheery mood, anyway? Good visit with your parents?” Draco’s voice picked up an edge, like he knew that a brief visit with her parents was the least exciting part of her summer break.
Her smile faded. She couldn’t tell Draco about Bulgaria. Not before a race, maybe not even before the end of the season. The last thing she needed was him getting distracted, losing focus, or flying angry. And while she didn’t like keeping a secret from him, him needling her about it was hardly fair.
After all, he’d promised her a trouble-free break, and had delivered the exact opposite.
If anyone is wondering where we are on a scale of 1 to fucked, Weird Al Yankovic just did a full cover of Rage Against the Machine - Killing In the Name

We're over halfway through the Top Flight season, and this week, we're in Bulgaria flying at the Seven Lakes Circuit. 🧹🏁

“Draco…” The comms unit caught every nuance of her exasperation. “This isn’t the best time.”
“If not on track, and not later in my room, then when?”
“Maybe when we’re not at work?”
Draco’s hands tightened along the handle, causing a brief judder around the penultimate lake before he started the climb back to the starting line.
“What was that? My data showed—”
“I know exactly what it showed,” he said. “When are we not at work? We practically live in the shed. I spend more time atop a broom than I do in my own bloody bed. Though I’m hoping you’ll help me change that.”
She huffed, half outrage, half frustration. “Yes, but we agreed—”
“We agreed to be discreet,” he said, “but I don’t recall us laying out any specific rules of engagement last week. I think you were too busy enjoying my fingers on your—”
“Draco! Stop being so… difficult.”
Difficult? She didn’t know the meaning of the word.
